This book is designed to teach coding theory in a mathematically sound manner to students in engineering, computer science, and mathematics. It differs from most other texts on the subject in two important ways: the "just in time philosophy," and unnecessary mathematical generalizations are omitted. This text been used to teach a two-quarter sequence in coding theory at Auburn University. The minimal prerequisite for students taking this course is a rather elementary knowledge of linear algebra.

Insulin therapy is the primary therapy in the treatment of Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) patients. And is an additional therapy for patients with Type 2 Diabetes (T2D), which is combined with Non-insulin drugs in order to be more effective in treatment [4]. Choosing the right type of insulin for each patient plays an important role in ensuring that the treatment is highly effective, minimizing the side effects caused by the drug and bringing many economic benefits to the patients.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most prevalent form of joint disease and commonly affects the hip. Hip OA is associated with a high socioeconomic burden. Intra-articular hyaluronic acid (HA) injection may be of benefit but quality evidence for HA use in hip OA is lacking.

Asthma patients experience impairments in health-related quality of life (HRQL). Interventions are available to improve HRQL. EQ-5D-5L is a common generic tool used to evaluate health interventions. However, there is debate over whether the use of this measure is adequate in asthma patients.

Functional tests are widely used to measure performance in patients with chronic musculoskeletal pain. Our objective was to determine the Minimal Clinically Important Differences (MCID) for the 6-min walk test (6MWT), the Steep Ramp Test (SRT), the 1-min stair climbing test (1MSCT), the sit-to-stand test (STS), the Jamar dynamometer test (JAM) and the lumbar Progressive Isoinertial Lifting Evaluation (PILE) in chronic musculoskeletal pain patients.

The Cobb angle is proposed as the “disease process” outcome for scoliosis research because therapies aim to correct or stop curve progression. While the Scoliosis Research Society recommends the Cobb angle as the primary outcome, the Society on Scoliosis Orthopaedic and Rehabilitation Treatment prioritises, as a general goal, patient related outcomes over Cobb angle progression.

Risk factors for unfavorable surgical outcomes are dependent on the definitions of the unfavorable surgical outcomes. The aims of this study were to compare risk factors for each unfavorable surgical outcome according to two different definitions of “unfavorable” surgical outcomes after surgery for lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS) as well as compare the clinical course from the preoperative period to 3 years postoperatively between cases with favorable and unfavorable outcomes according to the two different definitions.

Total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is an effective treatment for end-stage osteoarthritis. Patient reportedoutcome measures (PROMs) capture the patients’ perception of the success of an intervention. The minimal important difference (MID) is an important characteristic of the PROM, which helps to interpret results.

Clinical interpretation of health related quality of life (HRQOL) scores is challenging. The purpose of this analysis was to interpret score changes and identify minimal clinically important differences (MCID) on the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire-Core 30 (QLQ-C30) before (T1) and during (T2) cancer treatment.

Approach road is an important structure of a bridge. Serviceability of a bridge is affected by the settlement of approach road, especially that on soft soil. One method that is usually applied for minimizing effect of settlement of approach road is to replace soft soil by hill soil. This method however may increase cost of projects in Mekong Delta area with a larger depth of soft soil. In this paper, soft soil strengthened by mixing it to cement and fly ash at different mix proportions was investigated.

Bitter gourd is an important commercial vegetable crop not only in India but also in whole of southeast Asia. Its fruits contain several active compounds and have many medicinal uses as evident from old texts as well as its popularity in modern medicine. Due to limited irrigation facilities and stress on natural resources, getting high yields with minimal input is vital for agriculture in the current scenario and judicious selection and use of mulching can play a big role in water conservation.

This paper deals with the problem of grouping a set of objects into clusters. The objective is to minimize the sum of squared distances between objects and centroids. This problem is important because of its applications in different areas. In prior literature on this problem, attributes of objects have often been assumed to be crisp numbers.
