Massively parallel reporter assays (MPRAs) enable high-throughput functional evaluation of various DNA regulatory elements and their mutant variants. The assays are based on construction of highly diverse plasmid libraries containing two variable fragments, a region of interest (a sequence under study; ROI) and a barcode (BC) used to uniquely tag each ROI, which are separated by a constant spacer sequence.

There are only a few published case reports of irreducible Galeazzi fracture-dislocation, and patients in these studies had undergone reduction by open surgical methods. Arthroscopy for the distal radioulnar joint of the wrist joint has recently been used for wrist pathology. We aim to describe the surgical procedure involved in arthroscopic reduction of irreducible Galeazzi fracture-dislocation and clinical outcome and review the literature.

Methyl-CpG-binding protein 2 (MeCP2) is a multifunc-tional protein involved in chromatin organization and silencing of methylated DNA. MAR-BD, a 125-amino-acid residue domain of chicken MeCP2 (cMeCP2, origin-ally named ARBP), is the minimal protein fragment required to recognize MAR elements and mouse satellite DNA. Here we report the solution structure of MAR-BD as determined by multidimensional heteronuclear NMR spectroscopy.

This paper describes a simple patternmatching algorithm for recovering empty nodes and identifying their co-indexed antecedents in phrase structure trees that do not contain this information. We aim at finding the minimal set of fragments which achieves maximal parse accuracy in Data Oriented Parsing. Experiments with the Penn Wall Street Journal treebank show that counts of almost arbitrary fragments within parse trees are important, leading to improved parse accuracy over previous models tested on this treebank (a precis ion of 90.8% and a recall of 90.6%). We isolate some dependency relations which previous models neglect but which contribute to higher parse accuracy.

The presenilin proteins are required for intramembrane cleavage of a subset of type 1 membrane proteins including the Alzheimer’s disease amyloid precursor protein. Previous studies indicate presenilin proteins form enzymatically act-ive high molecular mass complexes consisting of hetero-dimers of N- and C-terminal fragments in association with nicastrin, presenilin enhancer-2 and anterior pharynx defective-1 proteins.

The American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) is the specialty society for physicians that focus on infertility. The organization has a Practice Committee that issues regular reports, including guidelines on minimal standards for providing ART, informed consent, and on the number of embryos to be transferred in IVF procedures.
