In this paper, we propose a new detection model that classifies traffic before deciding which machine learning algorithm used. The flexible processing and centralized management of Software Defined Network (SDN) controller allow deploying complex algorithms and mitigation methods quickly. By setting up a testbed, we implement our model as well as evaluating the parameters of accuracy successfully. The results show that our model is able to detect attack traffic quickly and exactly.

In this study, we propose a method for Web-App DDoS Attack mitigation on the basis of analyzing the relationship among the requests sent to the Web application to find out the source IP address of malicious requests and to perform mitigation. Our method provides a set of criteria that allows determining whether a source IP address is normal or malicious in a short period of time. The criteria also make it difficult for hackers to change the attack methods to overcome the characteristics of the criteria.

In this paper, a new SDN controller component was proposed to detect and mitigate DoS attacks in the SDN controller. POX layer three controller component was used for underlying a testbed for PacketIn messages. Any packet from the host was incremented to measure the rate of packet according to its device identification and its input port number.

The most common possible threat is DDoS. These attacks flood target with plentiful fake packets in order to drain the battery, prevent the genuine packets to pass thru and thwart the legitimate user to get the desired response. In this research article, we propose a detection and defense mechanism using packet filtration which deploys mitigation constraints to save the wireless sensor networks from the causes of DDoS.
