Geothermal energy constitutes an important renewable resource in Turkey that has been extensively utilized for heating buildings, power generation, greenhouse farming and various other industries. One of the most remarkable geothermal locations in Turkey is the low-enthalpy area of Afyon, where five main low-temperature (30–110℃) geothermal fields are exploited. However, further exploration drilling sites have proven inconclusive, casting doubts on the effective presence of high-temperature geothermal systems in the region.

A finite element analysis is performed for the bolted joint and the model is used to predict stress field for a Grey Cast iron and aluminum alloy. Joint member stiffness is presented against member aspect ratio in dimensionless form. Results show good agreement as compared with those of used techniques of Montosh and Marschke.

In the cast-applied dogs, vascular signals from the periosteal and endosteal callus were detected on CEUS before mineralized callus was observed on radiography. CEUS was useful in assessing the vascularity of soft tissue and callus, particularly in indirect fracture healing, and provided indications of a normally healing fracture.

he amorphous core dry-type cast-resin transformer is a type of energy- saving transformer, which the no-load losses in the amorphous metal is generally lower from 60% to 70 % than regular electrical steel (silicon steel). In this paper, the iron core and winding thermal of the dry-type transformer are simulated/analysed via a finite element method. The analysis of temperature distribution characteristics of iron core and winding in transformers is a quite important problem for researchers to show the hot-spot and the temperature rise highest point.

Highly tensile manganese steel is in great demand owing to its high tensile strength under shock loads. All workpieces are produced through casting, because it is highly difficult to machine. The probabilistic aspects of its casting, its variable composition, and the different casting techniques must all be considered for the optimisation of its mechanical properties. A hybrid strategy is therefore proposed which combines decision trees and artificial neural networks (ANNs) for accurate and reliable prediction models for ore crushing plate lifetimes.

Better representations of plot structure could greatly improve computational methods for summarizing and generating stories. Current representations lack abstraction, focusing too closely on events. We present a kernel for comparing novelistic plots at a higher level, in terms of the cast of characters they depict and the social relationships between them. Our kernel compares the characters of different novels to one another by measuring their frequency of occurrence over time and the descriptive and emotional language associated with them.

This paper describes a method using morphological rules and heuristics, for the automatic extraction of large-coverage lexicons of stems and root word-forms from a raw text corpus. We cast the problem of high-coverage lexicon extraction as one of stemming followed by root word-form selection. We examine the use of POS tagging to improve precision and recall of stemming and thereby the coverage of the lexicon. We present accuracy, precision and recall scores for the system on a Hindi corpus.

The lack of positive results on supervised domain adaptation for WSD have cast some doubts on the utility of handtagging general corpora and thus developing generic supervised WSD systems.
