This study focuses on experimental testing and subsequent numerical analysis of impacted and pre-loaded composite coupons and bonded composite scarf joints under varying impact conditions. A methodology will be developed for the numerical modelling of preloaded impact tests to enable capture of critical failure modes and ultimate failure. The main aim is to validate a modelling strategy that will provide accurate failure characterisation of the tested joints using numerical analysis.

Induced Pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) technology is involved in advancing the field of disease modelling and cell transplantation. Stem cell can differentiate under appropriate in vitro and in vivo conditions into different cell types. Under this study, we analysed the establishment of in vitro expression of GATA4 gene in cardiac differentiated canine iPSC. In vitro differentiation of canine iPSCs via embryoid bodies (EBs) was produced by ‘Hanging Drop’ method. EB’s were differentiated by using cardiac differentiation media.

Similar MHC class II polymorphisms and T cell dysfunc- tions have been implicated in lupus,[127,128] and lower levels of free tryptophan[129] and MHC II protein over expression is also linked to autoimmune attack on beta cells in Type I diabetes (IDDM) [130]. Over expression of the MHC II following failure to select against self-reactive T-cells is also a useful model for rheumatoid arthritis, Graves disease, and Hashimoto's thyroiditis, in which T- cells react to proteins produced in the body, failing to dis- criminate them from invading organisms [131].

It was during the Depression that hospitals band- ed together to offer prepaid coverage to citizens. Prepaid hospital coverage was a way for hospitals to avoid the financial failure that befell the banking industry. The approach worked so well that doctors followed suit a few years later and Blue Cross Blue Shield organizations were born. Little did anyone know that the seeds for runaway costs eighty years later had been planted. Prepaid, employer-provided insurance quickly dominated the health care landscape.
