This paper presents the results of immersion assay on antifouling performance of a fluoropolymer nanocomposite coating on the steel substrate using natural seawater medium in laboratory. The fluoropolymer nanocomposite coating was composed in the presence of reinforcement additives, including organically modified titanium dioxide (m-TiO2), organically modified zirconium dioxide nanoparticles (m-ZrO2) and antifouling agent of Cu2O nanoparticles and fluoropolymer.

In this work, gold nanorods (AuNRs) with well-controlled aspect ratios were prepared using a modified seedgrowth method and covered by TiO2 layers through the hydrothermal reaction to improve stability. Integrating TiO2 with plasmonic rod-like gold nanoparticles could enhance their photo activity by the local surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) effect. AuNRs aspect ratios were controlled by varying the amount of seed solution, reducing agents, surfactant (CTAB), and titanium (IV) but oxide.

TiO2 nanoparticles with crystallite size less than 15 nm were prepared from TiCl4 precursor by a modified sol-gel route. As-prepared TiO2 nanoparticles were extensively characterized using X-ray diffractometry, and their crystallite size was calculated using Debye-Scherrer formula.

The proportional relationship between the infrared (IR) transmittance of a transparent material and its IR-induced heat transfer can be explained via a simple model. An agreement between the theory and the experimental work was examined by measuring the temperature rising inside a heat-insulated box with glass windows under IR irradiation, where the material of the glass windows was modified from corning glass (CG) to 9 at% Nb-doped TiO2 (TNO) fabricated by sputtering deposition.

This paper presents a comparative study of nanomaterial modified glassy carbon paste electrodes (GCPEs) used as bioanodes in enzymatic biofuel cells. The developed bioanode electrodes were obtained by modification of composite GCPEs with glucose oxidase (GOx) and different nanomaterials like manganese(IV) oxide nanoparticle (MnO2 np) and aluminum titanate (Al2O3–TiO2) bimetallic nanostructure. We prepared novel unsymmetrical A3B-type zinc and cobalt phthalocyanines bearing monocarboxylic acid groups on peripheral positions using statistical condensation method, especially designed to anchor on the TiO2 semiconductor surface. The novel complexes were anchored on TiO2 semiconductor to prepare effective dye sensitized photoactive composites as heterogeneous catalysts. The results indicated that modified TiO2 nanocrystals possessed only the anatase phase and MPc-TiO2 photocatalysts with loading amount of dye ca. 8.27 µmol/g TiO2 exhibit strong visible light absorption.

The reflux method was utilized for the synthesis of 5% Sn-doped TiO2 nanopowder. Surfaces of the TiO2 particles were modified with 3-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane (glymo) and glass surfaces were coated with this solution by a spin-coating process. Molar ratios of TiO2:glymo were 0.25, 0.5, 2.5, and 7.5 in the films. Nanocomposite films were cured at 130 ◦ C. Adhesions of the obtained films were classified as 5B and pencil hardness increased with the increase in the ratio of the TiO2 in the films. Film thickness decreased from 5 µm to 0.3 µm when TiO2:glymo was increased from 0.25 to 7.5.

In the present work TiO2 nanotubes (TNT) have been synthesized by alkaline hydrothermal transformation. Then they have been doped with Gd element. Pristine and WO3 decorated TiO2 nanorods (NRs) were synthesised to investigate n-n-type heterojunction gas sensing properties. TiO2 NRs were fabricated via hydrothermal method on fluorine-doped tin oxide coated glass (FTO) substrates.
