Self-assembled functional nanomaterials with electromagnetic (EM) hot spots and chemical (CM) enhancement have been recognized as a key in surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) analysis. Herein, a dual-hybrid plasmonic coupling SERS sensor composed of rutile TiO2 nanorod arrays (r-TNRs), Au nanospheres (AuNSs), and Ag nanocubes (AgNCs) has been designed to achieve ultrasensitive detection and obtain unique molecular fingerprints.

The molecular structure of bis(2‒isobutyrylamidophenyl)amine (H3 LNNN) has been determined from single‒crystal X-ray diffraction data. The crystal packing of H3 LNNN is governed by the N–H⋯O and C–H⋯O hydrogen-bonding and C–H⋯π stacking interactions between the vicinal molecules. The intermolecular interactions in the crystal structure of H3 LNNN have been also examined via Hirshfeld surface analysis and fingerprint plots. The Hirshfeld surface analysis showed that the important role of N–H⋯O and C– H⋯π interactions in the solid‒state structure of H3 LNNN.

The RCSB Protein Data Bank (PDB) provides public access to experimentally determined 3D-structures of biological macromolecules (proteins, peptides and nucleic acids). While various tools are available to explore the PDB, options to access the global structural diversity of the entire PDB and to perceive relationships between PDB structures remain very limited.

Drug-induced liver injury (DILI) is a critical issue in drug development because DILI causes failures in clinical trials and the withdrawal of approved drugs from the market. There have been many attempts to predict the risk of DILI based on in vivo and in silico identification of hepatotoxic compounds.

Protein-protein interactions (PPI) play a key role in an investigation of various biochemical processes, and their identification is thus of great importance. Although computational prediction of which amino acids take part in a PPI has been an active field of research for some time, the quality of in-silico methods is still far from perfect.

Paediatric low-grade gliomas (LGGs) encompass a heterogeneous set of tumours of different histologies, site of lesion, age and gender distribution, growth potential, morphological features, tendency to progression and clinical course. Among LGGs, Pilocytic astrocytomas (PAs) are the most common central nervous system (CNS) tumours in children.

Soybean is legume crop having high protein (40%) and oil (20%) content. It has highest share in production among all oilseeds of the world. In present study 10 soybean genotypes were characterized using 14 RAPD primers. Total 103 amplicons were obtained out of which 75 were polymorphic and 28 were monomorphic. The percent polymorphism obtained was 72.81%. Highest average similarity coefficient was exhibited by the genotype MAUS-32 (0.675) and lowest similarity coefficient exhibited by MAUS-2 (0.584). The dendrogram of these genotypes grouped into two main clusters.

A set of 45 polymorphic microsatellite markers, representing markers for almost each chromosome, was used for the assessment of genetic diversity in 35 genotypes of bread wheat. A total of 127 alleles were detected which ranged from 2 to 6 with an average allele number of 2.82 per locus. The PIC value of the 45 SSRs ranged from 0.08 to 0.50 with an average PIC of 0.30. Resolving power and Marker index of all 45 markers varied from 0.17 to 2.82 and 0.16 to 1.52, respectively.

In this study, RAPD fingerprinting has been carried out for variants selected from orchards growing with micropropagated Robusta banana (Musa spp. ‘AAA’) plants. After isolation of quality DNA and preliminary screening of random primers, fourteen arbitrary (10-mers) primers showing intense unambiguous and reproducible PCR amplification have been selected for study. Among them OPA-19 and OPC-03 showed only monomorphic bands while OPA-02, OPA-09, OPA-13, OPA-14, OPB-6, OPB-15, OPC-01, OPD-10, OPF-04 and OPF-12 primers showed polymorphic bands.

Microsatellite markers can be used for fingerprinting of hybrids, assessing variation within parental lines and testing the genetic purity of hybrid seed lot. In this study 75 simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers well distributed on all the 10 chromosomes were employed for fingerprinting of six popular maize hybrids and their parental lines. Seven SSR markers were found to be polymorphic and produced unique fingerprints for the different hybrids. These markers can be used as referral markers for unambiguous identification and protection of the hybrids.
