Non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) as a screening method for common chromosomal abnormalities such as trisomy 21, 18, and 13 has been widely adopted. In the last five years, the possibility of NIPT to detect common single-gene disorders (SGD) due to de novo mutations or paternal inherited had been reported worldwide.

The inheritance pattern of flower colour in underutilized tuberous legume crop yam bean was studies by utilizing a white flower colour line (YBWF1) and two purple flower colour lines (RM-1 and L No-3). The F1 and F2 population along with parental lines were evaluated to study the inheritance pattern of the flower colour. All the F1 hybrids showed purple colour in both the crosses and in the F2 segregation generation, the observed distribution of the flower colour fitted the expected Mendalian ratio of 3 (Purple flower colour):1 (white flower colour).

Yellow Mosaic Virus disease (YMD) is a serious viral disease of soybean. Considering a very less attempt in studying the disease this investigation was carried out in order to arrive at the genetic basis of Yellow Mosaic Virus disease resistance of soybean. Crosses were made between highly resistant soybean varieties (DS 9712 and DS 9814) and two highly susceptible varieties (JS 335 and MAUS 609).

For example, laminopathies are monogenic multisystem disorders that result from mutations in the LMNA gene, which encodes the nuclear lamins A and C. Twelve autosomal dominant and four autosomal recessive disorders are caused by mutations in the LMNA gene.
