Associative Classification is an interesting approach in data mining to create more accurate and easily interpretable predictive systems. This approach is often built on both association rule mining and classification techniques, to find a set of rules called association rules for classification (CAR) of label attributes.

Analysis of Variance has been widely used in the analysis of forestry research data. They have contributed to a very common question in forest science: are factors affect results of experiments? Analysis of variance (ANOVA) can help researchers to analyze the effect of one or more factors on experimental results.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of financial factors on earnings management of Food and beverage companies listed on Vietnam stock exchange. The study is based on a panel data of 60 food and beverage listed enterprises over the period from 2008 to 2020. In addition, the Modified Jones model (1995) is used to provide more accurate and reliable information about earnings management behavior of these firms.

Decentralized privacy-preserving predictive modeling enables multiple institutions to learn a more generalizable model on healthcare or genomic data by sharing the partially trained models instead of patientlevel data, while avoiding risks such as single point of control. State-of-the-art blockchain-based methods remove the “server” role but can be less accurate than models that rely on a server.

We aim to develop a hybrid model for earlier and more accurate predictions for the number of infected cases in pandemics by (1) using patients’ claims data from different counties and states that capture local disease status and medical resource utilization; (2) utilizing demographic similarity and geographical proximity between locations; and (3) integrating pandemic transmission dynamics into a deep learning model.

Accurate genotype calling for high throughput Illumina data is an important step to extract more genetic information for a large scale genome wide association studies. Many popular calling algorithms use mixture models to infer genotypes of a large number of single nucleotide polymorphisms in a fast and efficient way.

Accurate classification of patients with a complex disease into subtypes has important implications for medicine and healthcare. Using more homogeneous disease subtypes in genetic association analysis will facilitate the detection of new genetic variants that are not detectible using the non-differentiated disease phenotype.

Environmental radiation monitoring stations using the NaI(Tl) scintillation detector have higher sensitivity and provide more accurate radiation dose values than using Geiger-Muller counters. However, when the temperature of the environment changes, the measuring data changes (due to the temperature dependence on the NaI(Tl) light yield and the quantum efficiency of the PMT).

Here, we develop k -mer substring space decomposition (Kssd), a sketching technique which is significantly faster and more accurate than current sketching methods. We show that it is the only method that can be used for large-scale dataset comparisons at population resolution on simulated and real data.

With the developments of DNA sequencing technology, large amounts of sequencing data have been produced that provides unprecedented opportunities for advanced association studies between somatic mutations and cancer types/subtypes which further contributes to more accurate somatic mutation based cancer typing (SMCT). In existing SMCT methods however, the absence of high-level feature extraction is a major obstacle in improving the classification performance.

This article sheds light on the question of whether it is possible to create fairly accurate forecasts of real oil prices. For this purpose, a multi-level machine learning model has been created to analyze several sources of heterogeneous data to predict future prices. The article uses different types of data: market condition data, titles, and transaction data. Then, they have been processed to be able to load them into the model. The validation of the regression neural network results showed that the model is more accurate than in previous studies.

Therefore, multi view text clustering presents a useful solution for trends detection by integrating various representations called ‘views’ to provide a complementary description of the same content. In this context, we propose a new ensemble method for multi-view text clustering that exploits different representations of text in order to produce more accurate and high quality clustering. Extensive experiments on real-world text datasets were conducted to demonstrate its superiority by comparing with the existing methods.

Methods for the integrative analysis of multi-omics data are required to draw a more complete and accurate picture of the dynamics of molecular systems. The complexity of biological systems, the technological limits, the large number of biological variables and the relatively low number of biological samples make the analysis of multi-omics datasets a non-trivial problem.

RNA-sequencing (RNA-Seq) has become a powerful technology to characterize gene expression profiles because it is more accurate and comprehensive than microarrays. Although statistical methods that have been developed for microarray data can be applied to RNA-Seq data, they are not ideal due to the discrete nature of RNA-Seq data.
