Previous studies have shown a wide range of anatomical classification of the subtalar joint (STJ) in the population and this is related to the different force line structures of the foot. Diferent subtalar articular surface morphology may affect the occurrence and development of fat foot deformity, and there are fewer studies in this area.

Posterior vertebral column resection (PVCR) is an effective alternative for treating rigid and severe spinal deformities. Accurate placement of pedicle screws, especially apically, is crucial. As morphologic evaluations of thoracic pedicles have not provided objective criteria, we propose a thoracic pedicle classification for treating rigid and severe spinal deformities.

Although pelvic incidence (PI) is a key morphologic parameter in assessing spinopelvic sagittal alignment, accurate measurements of PI become difficult in patients with severe hip dislocation or femoral head deformities.

In this paper, a combination between the indentation and scratching process was developed to analyze the deformation mechanisms and mechanical properties of Cu50Zr50 metallic glasses (MGs) using molecular dynamics (MD) simulation. The deformation mechanisms and mechanical properties of Cu50Zr50 MGs are appraised through the surface morphology, pile-up height, hardness, machining forces, and resistance coefficient. The influences of different indenter radius are clearly investigated.

Although little is known, a limited number of three-dimensional computed tomography (CT) images of the pelvis present focal concavity of posterior superior acetabulum. The purpose of the present study was to investigate this morphologic deformity and its relation with dysplasia and retroversion in adults who were expected to have the original morphology of the acetabulum after growth.

Recent morphological analyses of vertebrae in patients with scoliosis have revealed three-dimensional (3D) deformities in the vertebral bodies. However, it remains controversial whether these deformities are secondary changes caused by asymmetrical vertebral loading or primary changes caused by aberrant asymmetrical vertebral growth.

Children and young people make up an age group most vulnerable to falls. Various stability disorders may become instrumental in sustaining more frequent falls and resultant fractures. Correct morphological structure impacts overall efficiency of the foot, as well as offers significant diagnostic potential.

Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) patients with kyphosis have an abnormal spinopelvic alignment and pelvic morphology. Most studies focus on the relationship of pelvic tilt (PT) or sacral slope (SS) and deformity, and relatively few studies have addressed the relationship between pelvic incidence (PI) and kyphosis in AS patients.

Since AA2060-T8 was introduced in the past few years, investigating the mechanical response, fracture mechanisms, and anisotropic behaviour of AA2060-T8 sheets under high strain rate deformation has been crucial. Thus, uniaxial tensile tests were performed under quasi-static, intermediate, and high strain rate conditions using universal testing machines as well as split Hopkinson tensile bars.

Mechanical impedance is experienced to varying degrees by virtually all roots growing through soil. If continuous pores of sufficiently large diameter do not already exist, a root tip must exert a force to deform the soil. This process may considerably decrease root elongation rates, increase the root diameter and change the pattern of lateral root initiation (Russell, 1977). In this paper, the effects of mechanical impedance on root morphology are reviewed and some direct comparisons between soil resistance to root growth and resistance to a penetrometer are discussed.
