  • The paper "Image processing-based automatic gradation of stone aggregates" aims to employ image processing methods to develop a simple tool for automatic gradation of stone aggregates. The methods of image thresholding, Gaussian filtering, median filtering, morphological closing, and contour analysis are employed. The output of the newly constructed system is the plots demonstrating particle size distribution. These plots can be used for further inspection of aggregate gradation. The system has been developed in Python and with the help of the OpenCV library.

  • The final product was characterized by IR, Raman and XRD spectroscopic methods illustrating the presence of pure α-Fe2O3. SEM images of this material revealed a homogeneous morphology of microcube Fe2O3 with a size of about 500 nm. The catalytic activity of cubic Fe2O3 was investigated on the degradation of methylene blue in a heterogeneous Fenton system.

  • In this paper we chiefly accentuation on the color/shade of the activity sign for its recognition on the grounds that in many spots a standard arrangement of hues are utilized as a part of movement sign like red is used in prohibition signs. In the directional signs blue is the foundation shading in the directional signs and yellow is chosen for warning signs.

  • Recently, the innovative vein finder system has been studied extensively and has many practical uses in healthcare and security. Developing a better vein finder system often relies on image processing procedures which help to enhance the vein images. Conventional image processing procedures as median filtering and adaptive histogram equalization have shown benefit in enhancing vein patterns. However, in some cases when there are hairs present in the images, most of these procedures are less effective in removing noises from hairs.

  • This study aims at developing an image processing based method for automatic extraction of pothole object on surface of asphalt pavement road. Image processing methods including Median Filter, Otsu’s method for image thresholding, and image morphological analyses are employed for extracting pothole objects from digital images. Experimental results with image samples demonstrate the effectiveness of the developed image processing tool.

  • Aging is characterized by a gradual breakdown of cellular structures. Nuclear abnormality is a hallmark of progeria in human. Analysis of age-dependent nuclear morphological changes in Caenorhabditis elegans is of great value to aging research, and this calls for an automatic image processing method that is suitable for both normal and abnormal structures.

  • This paper is intended as an overview of recent developments and trends. It wishes to pro- vide a short survey of the principal families of approaches, their use and limitations. Algo- rithms generic or specific to particular imaging modalities are not given here (see for exam- ple (10)). Section 2 presents the analysis pipeline, which accepts as input raw data and provides some form of processing or interpretation. Two basic processing paradigms are summarized in section 3, namely linear (or pseudo-linear) and morphological.
