Aristolochia austroyunnanensis S. M. Hwang (family Aristolochiaceae), a species endemic to southern China, is newly recorded for the flora of Vietnam. This newly recorded species belong to subgenus Siphisia and is most similar to Aristolochia petelotii O. C. Schmidt and Aristolochia fangchi C. Wu ex L. D. Chow & S. M. Hwang. Detailed morphological descriptions and color illustrations, together with information on distribution, habitat, phenology, and taxonomic notes are given. An identification key to all known Siphisia species in Vietnam is also provided.

Strobilanthes lamiifolia (Nees) T. Anderson is reported here as a new record for the flora of Vietnam. It is morphologically allied to Strobilanthes sulfurea but differs in the shape of the leaf, bract, and bracteoles. Photographs and line drawings are given together with information on habitat, ecology and preliminary conservation assessment based on IUCN criteria.

The genus Sphagnum is one of the richest taxa among the Turkish bryophytes. Stachys species show high morphological diversity and their main diagnostic characteristics are calyx and corolla length, ratio of tooth to calyx, and verticillaster arrangement. This manuscript describes and provides detailed morphological, micromorphological and molecular information about a new species, Stachys istanbulensis Ö. Güner, and its close relatives. The new species resembles S. recta complex, but is distinguished by its procumbent flowering stems, shorter calyx and teeth, congested verticillasters, creamy yellow corolla and oblong-obovoid nutlets.

This study provides an identification key to the species of Riccia in Turkey and also gives information about detailed morphological and anatomic characters, reproductive forms, detailed photos of Riccia species and their spores, ecological preferences, and distribution patterns in the Mediterranean, Europe, and Southwest Asia. The number of Riccia taxa in Turkey has reached 27 including R. atromarginata, reported for the first time from Turkey in this study. In this study, two indigenous Chlorella strains were evaluated for triacylglycerol (TAG) production and related parameters during 10 days of N-deprivation. The strains were identified based on morphological characteristics and genomic information, named as Chlorella sp. IMU12 and Chlorella sp. IMU17. Time-dependent reduction of growth was accompanied by decreased chlorophyll content, reduced oxygen evolution ratio, and elevated carotenoid content of both strains cultivated in N-free Bold’s basal medium.

Teucrium L. is a well-known and cosmopolitan genus of the Lamiaceae family. In Turkey, the genus is represented by 36 species (48 taxa). Teucrium Sect. Teucrium that this study focuses on comprises around 30 species worldwide and is mainly distributed in countries of the Mediterranean Basin. With 11 species (14 taxa), it is the second-largest section of the genus Teucrium in Turkey.
