  • This paper presents the influence of the varying axial force of cable-stayed bridge caused by moving vehicles on the detection of diameter reduction of cables using vibration signal obtained from the climbing robot. The cable model is considered as an axially loaded Euler beam. When there is no diameter reduction, the dynamic displacement of the robot is smooth and no distortion can be inspected.

  • A novel frequency domain assurance criterion, called hereby Spectral Assurance Criterion (SAC), is proposed for frequency response analysis of cracked piezoelectric beam under moving load. First, a model of cracked beam bonded with a piezoelectric layer under moving harmonic load is conducted based on the double beam conception and then, analytical expressions of midspan beam deflection (mechanical response) and output charge produced in the piezoelectric layer (electric response) has been established in the frequency domain.

  • This paper presents the time history response of a sandwich beam with a porous core subjected to two moving harmonic loads with opposite directions. In the modelling, the beam is combined of two isotropic face sheets and a porous core with symmetric porosity distribution. The quasi-3D shear deformation beam theory in conjunction with Hamilton’s variational principle is utilized to set up the governing equations of motion. The Navier solution is used to obtain the displacement field.

  • ASP.NET can be challenging to learn unless you follow the step-by-step approach that is used in this book. Topics are presented in the order in which many developers like to learn them, starting with basic components and then gradually moving on to those features found on classy web sites. Each chapter follows a time-tested formula that first explains the topic in an easy-to-read style and then shows how it is used in a working web page that you can copy and load yourself.

  • The dynamical responses of railway track has been carried out by different ways. In this work, by developing an analytical model for the ballasted railway track which includes two rails connected to the railway sleeper, a fast method to calculated the dynamic responses of the two rails is presented. The rail is modelled as the infinite beams posed on the periodically supports which are rested on a viscoelastic foundation.

  • This paper presents a new pulse width modulator control method using the offset function to reduce switching loss in five-level Cascade inverter. The proposed technique is based on the offset function being 3rd harmonic voltage. The offset voltage will be added to the control voltages so that the voltage of phase which has absolute of load current largest move into top or bottom of the carriers.

  • This work studies the vibration of sandwich beams reinforced with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) under moving point loads. The cores of the beams are homogeneous while their two sides are made of carbon nanotube reinforced composites. The effective properties of two face sheets are estimated through a micromechanical model. A uniform distribution (UD) and four different types of functionally graded (FG) distributions, namely FG-X, FG, FG-V, FG-O, are considered.
