  • In addition, they suggest a two-binding site architecture in hTAS2R46, consisting of the usual orthosteric site together with a “vestibular” site toward the extracellular space, as observed in other GPCRs. The presence of the vestibular site may help to discriminate among the wide spectrum of bitter ligands.

  • Diagenesis in the Permo-Triassic New Red Sandstone, Isle of Arran is characterized by early cementation of hematite, clay, and calcite minerals, followed by burial compaction, quartz, feldspar, and pyrite cementation. Cataclasis post-dated the quartz and feldspar cementation and reduced the grain and pore aperture size in deformed samples.

  • There is evidence that optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) dating of quartz using the single-aliquot regenerative-dose (SAR) protocol underestimates the equivalent dose (De) for paleodoses above 100–200 Gy. Additionally, ‘infinitely’ old samples found not to be in laboratory saturation were reported.

  • Depending upon the source of power the harvesting may be manual, animal drawn or mechanical. India is predominantly an agricultural country with 69.38% of its population engaged in it. The production of grain has increased after independence due to high yielding varieties, increase of better irrigation facilities, increase use of chemical fertilizers and use of improved agricultural implements.

  • In the past few years, the food sectors have shown more attention towards the functional food development. The erudition of the effects of processing as well ingredient composition is essential in order to optimize the conditions and to obtain functional foods affluent in bioactive compounds. Particularly natural antioxidants present in food have received significant interest because of their safety and potential alimental and therapeutic effects. Since way back, bread and bakery products play a predominant role in human nutrition.

  • The sensitivity analysis of three Brassica spp. (cv. RH30, Laxmi and RH0749) cultivar of wheat was performed to see the possible change in the grain yield due to change in weather (Tmax, Tmin and rainfall) and non-weather parameters (CO2) using InfoCrop and WOFOST model. The potential condition was assumed with congenial weather and adequate management practices. The higher per cent of benefits was obtained at 500 ppm but further increase in CO2 (550, 600, 650 and 700 ppm) combined with one unit increase in mean ambient temperature reduced the percent change in mustard yield.

  • The field experiment was carried out with different grade foliar spray solutions and soil application of nano and conventional multi micronutrient fertilizers to study their effect on yield and economics of pigeonpea [Cajanus cajan (L.) Millsp.] during kharif season, 2015 at Main Agriculture Research Station, Raichur. The results revealed that foliar spray of either conventional or nanomulti micronutrients along with RDF have shown higher grain yields of pigeonpea when compared with the RDF alone (941.8 kg ha-1 ).

  • Mung bean is a widely consumed tropical food grain legume and is generally affected by different abiotic stresses. Late Embryogenic Abundant (LEA) proteins help the plants to withstand these stresses by its multi-functional role. In this study, a VrLEA2 gene isolated from mung bean using gene specific primers was sequenced and the in silico analysis of the gene sequence revealed the presence of eight ORF regions. ORF6region showed high similarity to Em like protein of Vigna radiata (L) Wilczek.

  • Heat stress due to prolonged high ambient temperature during critical growth stages is a serious threat to crop production worldwide. Though being a C4 crop, maize has relatively wider adaptation, however, weather extremes such as heat stress is challenging its threshold limits. There is an absolute requirement of heat tolerant cultivars in the present condition as climate change has a become reality.

  • A field experiment was conducted on loamy sand soil of Anand (Gujarat) during summer season of the year 2017 to study the effects of multi-micronutrient mixture on growth, yield and quality of the pearl millet (Pennisetum glaucum L.). The soil used for the experiment was alkaline in reaction with low in available N and high in available P2O5 and K2O. With respect to DTPA-micronutrients, Fe and Mn was deficient, while Zn and Cu were sufficient in status.

  • Nanocrystalline materials have been the subject of widespread research over the past couple of decades with significant advancement in their understanding especially in the last few years [3]. As the name suggests, they are single or multi-phase polycrystals with nano scale (1 · 109 –250 · 109 m) grain size. At the upper limit of this regime, the term ‘‘ultra- fine grain size’’ is often used (grain sizes of 250–1000 nm).

  • We present a novel, data-driven method for integrated shallow and deep parsing. Mediated by an XML-based multi-layer annotation architecture, we interleave a robust, but accurate stochastic topological field parser of German with a constraintbased HPSG parser. Our annotation-based method for dovetailing shallow and deep phrasal constraints is highly flexible, allowing targeted and fine-grained guidance of constraint-based parsing. We conduct systematic experiments that demonstrate substantial performance gains. ...

  • With performance above 97% accuracy for newspaper text, part of speech (POS) tagging might be considered a solved problem. Previous studies have shown that allowing the parser to resolve POS tag ambiguity does not improve performance. However, for grammar formalisms which use more fine-grained grammatical categories, for example TAG and CCG, tagging accuracy is much lower. In fact, for these formalisms, premature ambiguity resolution makes parsing infeasible.

  • This paper examines the memory system behavior of database management systems on simultaneous multi- threaded processors. Simultaneous multithreading (SMT) [4] is an architectural technique in which the processor issues instructions from multiple threads in a single cycle. For scientific workloads, SMT has been shown to substantially increase processor utilization through fine- grained sharing of all processor resources (the fetch and issue logic, the caches, the TLBs, and the functional units) among the executing threads [23].

  • Profits which arise from carrying on trades, professions and vocations cannot usually be worked out by simply adding together the cash receipts of the business and deducting expenses paid out. This would show the business’ cash flow, but it would not usually be a proper measure of its profits. To arrive at the profits it is necessary to draw up accounts using the methods which accountants have developed for dealing with income that has been earned but not received, expenses which have been incurred but not paid or paid but not fully used, and so on.
