Ebook "Multicriteria optimization" provides the necessary mathematical foundation of multicriteria optimization to solve nonlinear, linear and combinatorial problems with multiple criteria. Motivational examples illustrate the use of multicriteria optimization in practice. Numerous illustrations and exercises as well as an extensive bibliography are provided.

This paper deals with approximate Pareto efficient solutions of a nonsmooth fractional interval-valued multiobjective optimization. We first introduce some types of approximate Pareto efficient solutions of the considered problem by considering the lower-upper interval order relation.

In multiobjective optimization, the result of an optimization algorithm is a set of efficient solutions from which the decision maker selects one. It is common that not all the efficient solutions can be computed in a short time and the search algorithm has to be stopped prematurely to analyze the solutions found so far.

Complex industrial systems often contain various uncertainties. Hence sophisticated fuzzy optimization (metaheuristics) techniques have become commonplace; and are currently indispensable for e ective design, maintenance and operations of such systems. Unfortunately, such state-of-the-art techniques suffer several drawbacks when applied to largescale problems.

The organization of the canonical code has intrigued researches since it was first described. If we consider all codes mapping the 64 codes into 20 amino acids and one stop codon, there are more than 1.51 × 1084 possible genetic codes. The main question related to the organization of the genetic code is why exactly the canonical code was selected among this huge number of possible genetic codes.

Asthma and allergies prevalence increased in recent decades, being a serious global health problem. They are complex diseases with strong contextual influence, so that the use of advanced machine learning tools such as genetic programming could be important for the understanding the causal mechanisms explaining those conditions.

In this study a multi-stage multi-objective transportation model is developed with fuzzy relations. Minimization of both cost and time of transportation are considered as two different objectives of first stage which are associated with a number of different criteria like detortion time, fixed charge and mode of transportation. In second stage, another objective i.e quantity of transported amount is considered on the basis of previous two objectives.

This paper is interested in pharmaceuticals distribution which is one of the most important activities and ensures the availability of drug products to a set of customers (pharmacies). The study introduces the Disrupted Vehicle Routing problem with Soft Time Windows since pharmaceutical distributors should respond to increased demands for products to ensure timely and efficient delivery to dynamic demands. We also propose an improved multiobjective local search (IMOLS).

The sum of a fractional program is a nonconvex optimization problem in the field of fractional programming and it is difficult to solve. The development of research is restricted to single objective sums of fractional problems only.

In this paper, we study the notion of substantial efficiency for a given multiobjective optimization problem. We provide two characterizations for substantially efficient solutions: The first one is based on a scalar problem and the second one is in terms of a stability concept.

In this paper, we applied an Interactive Fuzzy Goal Programming (IFGP) approach with linear, exponential and hyperbolic membership functions, which focuses on maximizing the minimum membership values to determine the preferred compromise solution for the multi-response stratified surveys problem, formulated as a MultiObjective Non Linear Programming Problem (MONLPP).

In this paper, we consider a multi-objective two person zero-sum matrix game with fuzzy goals, assuming that each player has a fuzzy goal for each of the payoffs. The max-min solution is formulated for this multi-objective game model, in which the optimization problem for each player is a linear programming problem. Every developed model for each player is demonstrated through a numerical example.

This paper deals with multiobjective bi-level linear programming problems under fuzzy environment. In the proposed method, tentative solutions are obtained and evaluated by using the partial information on preference of the decision-makers at each level. The existing results concerning the qualitative analysis of some basic notions in parametric linear programming problems are reformulated to study the stability of multiobjective bi-level linear programming problems.

A class of multiobjective fractional programming problems (MFP) is considered where the involved functions are locally Lipschitz. In order to deduce our main results, we introduce the definition of (p,r) − ρ − (η,θ) - invex class about the Clarke generalized gradient. Under the above invexity assumption, sufficient conditions for optimality are given. Finally, three types of dual problems corresponding to (MFP) are formulated, and appropriate dual theorems are proved.

Mixed type symmetric and self duality for multiobjective variational problems with support functions
In this paper, a pair of mixed type symmetric dual multiobjective variational problems containing support functions is formulated. This mixed formulation unifies two existing pairs Wolfe and Mond-Weir type symmetric dual multiobjective variational problems containing support functions.

A second order Mond-Weir type dual is presented for a non-differentiable multiobjective optimization problem with square root terms in the objective as well as in the constraints. Optimality and duality results are presented. Classes of generalized higher order η – bonvex and related functions are introduced to study the optimality and duality results. A fractional case is presented at the end.

In this paper, a new class of (G,C,r)- type I functions and their generalizations are introduced. We consider a class of differentiable multiobjective optimization problems and establish sufficient optimality conditions. The results of the paper are more general than those existing in the literature.
