  • The cotyledons are suitable materials to create multiple shoot for GmCHI transgenic T. paniculatum when using the MS medium supplemented with kinetin. The addition of 2.0 mg/l of BAP gave a higher multi-shooting effect than the addition of 1.5 mg/l of kinetin or the combination of 1.5 mg/l of kinetin with 0.8 mg/l of IBA. Using 0.5mg/l IAA had better rooting ability than combining 0.5mg/l IAA with kinetin.

  • Roses are one of the most popular fl owers in the world because of their beauty, color, aroma as well as their various uses and Red Eden rose is one of the most popular hybrid roses. Results of the study showed the most optimal medium for shoot multiplication, which was MS + 30 g/l of sucrose + 8 g/l of agar supplemented with 0.5 mg/l of BA. The optimal medium for growth and fl owering was ½MS + 30 g/l of sucrose + 8 g/l of agar supplemented with 30 μM of AgNO3 . However, NAA at all tested concentrations did not show any eff ect on in vitro plant growth.

  • The present experiment was conducted to standardize the protocol for in vitro mutagenesis of gladiolus hybridus varieties ‘Punjab Glance’ and ‘Sylvia’. The nodal buds were irradiated with different doses of gamma rays (Co60) 0, 5, 8, 10 and 12 Gy. Irradiated explants were then cultured aseptically on MS basal medium supplemented with 5 mg/l (BAP) + 2mg/l (IBA) and agar-agar to induce shoot and root proliferation.

  • A study was carried out to establish efficient and reliable in vitro propagation protocol for Gisela 5 (Prunus cerasus x Prunus canescens) - clonal cherry rootstock. Axillary and terminal buds of ‘Gisela 5’ were collected in the spring and cultured on MS medium. After the in vitro cultures were sufficiently established, experiments were conducted to assess the influence of different levels of benzyladenine (BA), kinetin (Kin), thidiazuron (TDZ), gibrellic acid (GA3) and indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) on in vitro shoot multiplication.

  • Hydrangea (Hortensia) is a highly popular ornamental plant for garden decoration, and now it is commercially produced for cut flower branches. The aim of this study was to set up a protocol for large scale for in vitro propagation of Hydrangea macrophylla, for this purpose two type of explant (shoot tip and node) were sterilized and the best percentage of survival explants (40%) was obtained when explants immersed for 20 min in 1.0 or 1.5 % NaOCl. For in vitro multiplication, Murashige and Skoog medium supplemented with 1.0 mg/l BA and 2.0 mg/l Kin was the best treatment on shoot number.

  • Brahmi (Bacopa monnieri L.) belonging to the family Scrophulariaceae is an endangered perennial, glaburous, succulent creeping herb of great medicinal importance. Increased demand of Bacopa based drugs makes natural populations of this herb vulnerable to overexploitation. It is therefore essential to optimize and scale up in vitro multiplication protocols for conservation and multiplication of wild and cultivated germplasm. Nodal segments with axillary buds of an elite Bacopa genotype, were surface sterilized and inoculated to initiate aseptic cultures on 0.
