The freshwater sponge collections of the National Museum of Natural History of Madrid were examined and the presence of Eunapius carteri (Bowerbank, 1863) in the Iberian Peninsula was rediscovered. An approach to its ecology is also presented. This species is not currently considered within the Iberian and Western European fauna. Therefore, its rediscovery changes the conception of this species’ biogeographical distribution in Europe linked to its ecology.

This is the first record of a pycnogonid for the Iranian coast. It is also the first record of an Endeis, and of Endeis biseriata, for the waters of the Gulf of Oman. A single specimen was collected in an algal bed of Padina sp., along Chabahar Bay, in February 2017. It is deposited in the Zoology Museum of the University of Hormozgan. E. biseriata is probably a native Indo-Pacific species that now has a wide world distribution, being probably pantropical. Morphological and ecological notes, as well as the distribution range of E.

Sexual size dimorphism (SSD) of the wolf and the lynx was evaluated for 15 pelvic and sacral variables in 48 specimens from the Western Carpathians. Our data confirmed small male-biased SSD in the pelvic and sacral bones for both species. We suggest that this can be explained by the need for a compromise between requirements for locomotion and giving birth. We also confirmed that significant differences exist between the species in the size of the pelvic and sacral bones. We discuss our findings in light of the species’ different life histories.

This study aims to identify types and factors of degradations of kelingkan shawls from the collection of Department of Museums Malaysia located in Kuala Lumpur. The study was carried out through visual observation on twenty-two samples of kelingkan shawls in the museum textile storage room. The findings identify physical damages as the major factor constituting the instability of kelingkan shawls, followed by chemical and biological damages.

In this article, Alpinia graminifolia - a new record species for Vietnam flora was discovered in the mountain of Northern Vietnam (Quang Ninh province and Bac Giang province). Specimens were collected in Quang Ninh province (Uong Bi City, Thuong Yen Cong commune, Yen Tu mountain) and Bac Giang province (Son Dong dist., Thanh Luan commune), deposited at the Vietnam National Museum of Nature (VNMN), herbarium of Hanoi University of Pharmacy (HNIP), herbarium of Institute of Ecology and Biological Resources (HN).

About the close of May, 1895, I was invited to make a collection of objects for the National Museum, illustrating the archeology of the Southwest, especially that phase of pueblo life pertaining to the so-called cliff houses. I was specially urged to make as large a collection as possible, and the choice of locality was generously left to my discretion. While Nesjar created the sculpture on the green in front of The Art Museum, he conducted a unique, outdoor seminar. The process involved building wooden forms to establish the basic shapes of the columnar pedestal and then a similar structure for the head itself. After completion of the wooden form, a mixture of crushed stone (imported from Norway) and iron tie-rods was packed within, and liquid concrete was injected under pressure from the base up. Nesjar later sandblasted the outer skin to expose the colorful aggregate.
