We report an uncommon case of cholinergic poisoning following an ingestion of wild mushrooms. Two middle-aged patients presented to the emergency unit with acute gastrointestinal symptoms including epigastric pain, vomiting and diarrhea, followed by miosis, palpitations and diaphoresis which were compatible with a cholinergic toxidrome.

Genomes of lethal Amanita and Galerina mushrooms have gradually become available in the past ten years; in contrast the other known amanitin-producing genus, Lepiota, is still vacant in this aspect. A fatal mushroom poisoning case in China has led to acquisition of fresh L. venenata fruiting bodies, based on which a draft genome was obtained through PacBio and Illumina sequencing platforms.

Pediatric acute liver failure is a rare, life-threatening illness. Mushroom poisoning is a rare etiology. For patients with irreversible pediatric acute liver failure, liver transplantation is the ultimate lifesaving therapy. However, it is difficult to determine the optimal timing of transplantation.

The GKVK campus is located in the northern part of Bangalore, Karnataka (India) comprising 1380 acres land area receives ~994.5 mm average rain fall and receives fairly good rain during monsoon. The climatic condition and soil are congenial for growth and development of different species of mushrooms. A variety of mushrooms belong edible, poisonous and medicinal species can be seen during rainy season. In this study, twenty one different mushroom species were collected during rainy season (July to October, 2014) and identified by Internal Transcribed Sequence (ITS) homology.

Of the total 276 species of class Agaricomycetes collected from Ngoc Linh mountain, Quang Nam province, we identified eight newly recorded species of macrofungi in Vietnam, namely Cymatoderma caperatum, Amanita xanthogala, Chlorophllum brunneum, Chlorophyllum hortense, Hymenopellis megalospora, Psathyrella longipes, Russula cystidiosa, and Serpula lacrymans. The morphologies, anatomical characters were given, additionallysome uses of these fungus species were provided. Among these eight species, two species are edible mushrooms and another three species may be poisonous mushrooms.

Since the issue of my "Studies and Illustrations of Mushrooms," as Bulletins 138 and 168 of the Cornell University Agricultural Experiment Station, there have been so many inquiries for them and for literature dealing with a larger number of species, it seemed desirable to publish in book form a selection from the number of illustrations of these plants

Introduction: As many as 5,000–6,000 mushroom species are growing in the world. Among them, only about 1,000 species are named; the majority of them are unnamed. The number of species of edible mushrooms in Japan is about 300; that of toxic mushrooms is said to be about 30. Various types of toxic mushrooms exist; some show high toxicity, while others show hallucinogenic actions. Morphological and chemical analyses for mushrooms are occasionally required in forensic science practice.
