Part 2 book "Chromatography - The most versatile method of chemical analysis" by Leonardo de Azevedo Calderon includes contents: Chromatographic analysis of nitrogen utilization and transport in arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal symbiosis; instrumental analysis of tetrodotoxin; chromatography as the major tool in the identification and the structure function relationship study of amylolytic enzymes from saccharomycopsis fibuligera R64; isolation and purification of sperm immobilizing agglutinating factors from bacteria and their corresponding receptors from human spermatozoa,...

Mycorrhizae is a symbiotic mutualistic relationship between special soil fungi and fine plant roots. Interaction of Mycorrhiza with plants, fungi and environment is obligatory and somewhat complex. Mycorrhiza fungi offer substantial benefits to associated plants like increase in mineral nutrient uptake, protection against soil borne pathogens, damage compensation etc (Ranganathswamy et al., 2019).

The ever changing environmental conditions have been faced by plants through evolutionary time, among which drought is considered as the most common having an adverse effect on growth and development of the plants which is one of the major constraints on plant productivity worldwide and is expected to increase with climatic changes. The symbiotic relationship between arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi and the roots of higher plants is widespread in nature.

The rhizosphere is the region close to a plant’s roots, where various interactions occur. Recent evidence indicates that plants influence rhizosphere microbial communities by secreting various metabolites and, in turn, the microbes influence the growth and health of the plants. Despite the importance of plantderived metabolites in the rhizosphere, relatively little is known about their spatiotemporal distribution and dynamics.

We undertook an evaluation of the physical and chemical quality of soil characteristics, micro- and macroscopic features of morphology, distribution, and mycorrhizal relationships of Terfezia boudieri Chatin. In conclusion, the habitats of T. boudieri and H. salicifolium should be protected by turning those fields into natural protected areas.
