The KRT5 p.E477K was strong associated with the very severe or lethal of generalized severe EBS (GS-EBS), characterized by the severe symptoms at birth, improving with age and evolution to palmoplantar keratoderma and nail dysplasia. Our finding will aid the molecular diagnosis, prognosis prediction of the patient with GS-EBS due to p.E477K and significant genetic counselling the family concerning the recurrence risk for future pregnancies.

Candidiasis is the commonest fungal disease found in humans affecting mucosa, skin, nails and internal organs. It is caused by various species of yeast like fungi belonging to genus Candida with Candida albicans as the representative species. This study was undertaken to find out the prevalence of candidiasis in immunocompromised patients in this part of the country as well as to identify the different species isolated. History was elicited from all the patients enrolled in this study after taking informed consent from the patient.

In India dermatophytic infection are very common superficial fungal infections due to hot and humid climate in most of the part of country. A study was planned to find clinicomycological profile of dermatophytic infection in our arid zone along with study of predisposing factors and to find out species commonly involved. Aim of the study is to isolate and enumerate dermatophytes and other fungi from clinically suspected cases of Dermatomycoses, to co-relate the isolate and findings with clinical presentations and to analyse the Dermatophyte test medium for the growth of dermatophytes. Hundred (100) clinically suspected cases of dermatophytosis and dermatomycoses attending Dermatology O.P.D., was selected for the study including hair, skin and nail samples. It was a prospective and descriptive study.
