The Insecta are the most diverse group of animals on the planet. The diversity of Plecoptera aquatic insect order is used as an environmental and ecological indicator. The study of endemic species is important for confirming the national biodiversity and contributing to the determination of national sovereignty. Despite Vietnam being a biodiversity hotspot, the number of known insect species remains limited.

The present paper attempts to examine and establish the relationship between R&D and job creation by using GMM-System across 54 industries in the Malaysian manufacturing sector. The empirical evidence provided in this paper suggests that R&D significantly determined job creation. R&D policy can contribute a positive effect on job creation in the Malaysian manufacturing sector. This is indeed in line with the National Science, Technology and Innovation Policy that aims to expand Malaysia’s gross expenditure on R&D by at least 2 percent prior to the year 2020.

The aim of this study is tracking the goals of national climate policies and real trends in the carbon intensity of the economies of the G20 countries. A comparative content analysis of the Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDC) of the G20 countries was performed. The trends of mean were built for the carbon intensity indicator of G20 countries in the period 1991-2014. The countries, which already passed the peak of the carbon intensity of the economy, were identified.

This paper presents a multi-criteria assessment approach for the prioritisation of low-carbon technologies for the waste sector in order to enable the implementation of Vietnam’s nationally determined contributions (NDCs) in terms of the Paris Agreement. A four-step approach is developed for assessing and prioritising low-carbon technologies for the waste sector using this approach. A set of five criteria and indicators are defined for multi-criteria assessment. Based on mitigation options defined in the NDCs, a shortlist of 26 technological options are defined.

With the rapid rise in the world’s elderly population, particularly in Vietnam, there is a concomitant increasing demand for geriatric departments. What is the structure of a geriatric department? Which diseases should be paid attention to? Determining the disease patterns of older patients will contribute to the design of a comprehensive plan for elderly patients’ health care in Vietnam. In this study, we evaluated disease patterns of elderly patients hospitalized at the Vietnamese National Geriatric Hospital.

This paper presents a multicriteria low carbon assessment for seven sectors identified in the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) of Viet Nam including energy efficiency, power generation, transport, agriculture, land use, land-use change and forestry (LULUCF), and waste, plus F-gas. Specific technologies for sectoral mitigation options identified in Viet Nam’s NDC were selected and assessed.

Whereas the first two of these criteria have attracted considerable attention, much less research has been directed at the influence of the intensity and degree of concentration of economic activity. A study of how industrial clusters are organised and function should contribute to a better understanding of this issue.
