Garcinia multiflora belonging to the Clusiaceae family is one of the medicinal plant species native to Viet Nam and southern China and its use is an ethno-medicinal remedy to treat acne, scabies, constipation, and inflammation. In this paper, the chemical investigation on the fruits of Garcinia multiflora growing in the north of Vietnam was reported.

The vinegar or pomace fly, Zaprionus tuberculatus Malloch, is native to the Afrotropical region but has recently colonized new areas in Turkey, Italy, Malta, Romania, and Greece. Rose apple (Syzygium jambos) is a popular fruit native to Southeast Asia. The blossoms contain hundreds of stamens and the fruits are crisp, juicy with distinct rose scent. The fruits are palatable with a moderate sweet taste. Rose apple contains low fibre level, appreciable level of vitamin C, some level of acid, protein and ash content. In-situ characterization and preliminary evaluation are performed following Biodiversity International Tropical Fruit Descriptor. Panchamirtham is a kind of fruit based fermented product with a strong flavour. Panchamirtham is made from the five types of foods were used in Hindu worship and pooja to divinity. The current study was conducted to investigate the diversity of native lactic acid bacteria (LAB) populations and characterization in the indigenous fermented fruit mix. Biological control represents an important approach to manage plant diseases. Blights of leaf, panicle and fruits caused by Alternaria alternata and the wilt caused by Fusarium solani are important diseases of litchi. Hence, as an alternative to chemical fungicides, biological control by Trichoderma spp. to manage pathogens of litchi was explored. The aim of this study was to isolate native Trichoderma spp. from litchi orchard ecosystem and to evaluate antagonistic potential and its biological fitness so as to develop a commercial formulation for field application to manage litchi diseases.

Trichoderma species are commonly used as biological control agents against phytopathogenic fungi and represent differential capacity of antagonism. Jamun (Syzygium cumini Skeels.) is an important minor indigenous fruit, belongs to the family Myrtaceae.
