The study found that nematode composition differed significantly between the upper and deeper layers of sediment but not among the deeper layers. Nematode density showed spatial variability across layers, with higher values in the upper layer. Nematode diversity decreased with increasing depth. Non–selective deposit feeders (1B) were dominated in the surface layers, while the predator–omnivores feeders (2B) was numerous in the deeper layers

This study aims to investigate how nematodes’ communities variables such as diversity, sex and feeding structure alter in different 5 layers of sediment deep profile of the river bed. Our studies found for the first time that nematodes’ communities not only stay on 10 cm first layers but they can contribute until 50 cm deep in the sediment profile of the river bed.

Southern root-knot nematode Meloidogyne incognita (Kofoid and White, 1919), Chitwood, 1949 is a key pest of agricultural crops. Pasteuria penetrans is a hyperparasitic bacterium capable of suppressing the nematode reproduction, and represents a typical coevolved pathogen-hyperparasite system. Attachment of Pasteuria endospores to the cuticle of second-stage nematode juveniles is the first and pivotal step in the bacterial infection. RNA-Seq was used to understand the early transcriptional response of the root-knot nematode at 8 h post Pasteuria endospore attachment.

A survey was carried out to study the distribution of plant parasitic nematodes associated with fruit crops of Bhubaneswar- The capital of state Odisha, India. Around 240 soil samples were collected from the rhizosphere of fruit crops; cashew nut, guava, papaya and lime across the different places of Bhubaneswar. Nematodes were isolated by Cobb’s sieving and decanting method followed by modified Baermann’s funnel technique. Communities of plant parasitic nematodes were analysed.

The genus Parkellus with a redescription of Parkellus menzeli male is recorded and illustrated for the first time from Vietnam. One male of Parkellus menzeli was collected from Y Ty Commune, Bat Xat natural conservation area, Lao Cai Province, northwest Vietnam; its measurements and features corresponded well with the type population from Crasta im Textal, Switzerland and other populations from Poland.

Several genera dominated in Tri An Reservoir such as Daptonema, Rhabdolaimus, Udonchus, and Neotobrilus indicated for organic enrichment conditions. The percentage of cp3&4 and MI (Maturity Index) value in the dry season was higher than that in the pre-rainy season expressed the ecological quality status of sediment in the dry season were better than those in the pre-rainy season.

A survey was conducted to explore the existence of plant parasitic nematodes associated with millet crops in Tiruvannamalai District. In this study, nine genera of plant-parasitic nematodes were recognized. The analysis of nematode communities revealed that the Tylenchorynchus sp. was the most frequently occurring nematode having an absolute frequency of 46.6% followed by Helicotylenchus sp. (38.8%) and Meloidogyne sp. (25.9%).

Sub-tidal free-living nematodes in 12 stations along the Saigon River were investigated in both dry and rainy seasons during 2014 and 2015. In total, 157 nematode genera were found to belong to 59 families, and 11 orders of two classes of Enoplea and Chromadorea were identified. The trophic structure of free-living nematode communities was analysed spanning the overall seasons to see that deposit-feeders developed dominantly in the Saigon River indicating their association with food types including particles, bacteria, diatom, etc..

The highest numbers of nematodes with a percentage ranging from 76.4% in Cung Hau to 77% in Ham Luong estuaries. There were 92 genera (71 genera in Ham Luong and 62 genera in Cung Hau) of nematodes recorded in both estuaries. Results showed that the meiofauna, especially Nematode communities at the Tam Giang’s organic shrimp farms (TGOSF) in Ca Mau mangrove express high densities and biodiversity and Nematoda dominate numerically in the mangrove meiofauna (73.69 to 96.2 %).
