Two species of the genus Miconchus, viz. M. dahousiensis and M. baeticus, were recorded for the first time in Vietnam. The two collected species from Tuyen Quang, Ha Giang and Bac Can Provinces were redescribed and illustrated.

Up to now, twenty two nematodes species were recognized in the genus Daptonema Cobb, 1920 from mangrove, river and estuary ecosystems in Vietnam, of those, eighteen species were from Vietnam’s nematode fauna. Three species, D. dihystera Gagarin and Nguyen Vu Thanh, 2005, D. salvum Gagarin, Nguyеn Vu Thanh & Nguyen Thi Thu, 2005 and D. rigidum Gagarin, Nguyеn Vu Thanh & Nguyen Thi Thu, 2005 were found in fresh water, while other species were distributed in the mangrove forest, estuaries and seagrass ecosystem.

Thesis study of the composition of the parasitic nematodes in marine fishes in the off Vietnam is urgently needed. The survey’s results are not only provide the information about the fauna of fish’s nematoda, the relation between hosts-parasites, but also assess the the potential risks for human consumption.

More than one hundred species of nematodes have been reported from upland and paddy rice in many countries (Tab. 1). Their frequency and importance are very variable and, in most cases the existence of a parasitic relationship with rice is probable but has not been demonstrated. Many species of root nematodes have been observed both in dry and irrigaftieldd s but very few species are found in both situations. Several surveys made by the authors in WAefrsitc a have shown that a relatively low number of species are adapted to permanently flooded conditions.
