The purpose of this study is to evaluate the potential advantages of thoracoscopic versus open resection for symptomatic congenital pulmonary airway malformation (CPAM) in neonates. Methods: A retrospective review of the medical records of neonates (age≤28 days) who underwent surgery for symptomatic CPAM from 2010 to 2020.

The original NIPS was translated into Vietnamese using a standard protocol. Registered nurses of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Tien Giang General Hospital, Vietnam used the Vietnamese NIPS for assessing neonatal pain and then provided feedback on acceptability of the scale. Five registered nurses of NICU were randomly selected and used NIPS for assessing neonatal pain while watching thirty videos at two times, two weeks apart from each other. Pulse rates per minute and oxygen saturation (SpO2) were also recorded for validity evaluation.

A total of twenty-eight native Bacillus thuringiensis strains were evaluated against neonate larvae of Helicoverpa armigera and found that three strains were effective with more than 80 % cumulative mortality, followed by seven strains with 51-75 and nine strains with more than 40% cumulative mortality at 7 days after treatment. Cumulative mortality of 83.3% was recorded in strain IBS1 which was statistically on par with each other and standard check Bt. kurstaki (HD-1) and also superior over other treatments.

Escherichia coli is normal inhabitant of intestine of animals E. coli strains cause a wide variety of intestinal and extra intestinal diseases such as diarrhoea, urinary tract Infection, septicemia, and meningitis in neonates. Bacterial meningitis is often seen in neonatal calves as a sequele of septicemia caused by E. coli with multiple body system and organ involvement. Series of 32 calves of meningitis in neonatal calves, the post frequent clinical findings were lethargy, recumbancy, loss of suck reflex, stupper and comma.

Neonatal septicemia continues to be a major cause of mortality and morbidity among neonates around the world, in spite of great advances in antimicrobial therapy, neonatal life support measures and the early detection of risk factors. The present study was undertaken to describe the spectrum of isolates in cases of neonatal septicaemia, and their antimicrobial susceptibility pattern and to look for their association with various risk factors. In this prospective study in central India we prospectively enrolled the suspected cases of neonatal septicaemia, which were not on antimicrobials.

The aim of this study was to validate a model for optimal birth weight derived from neonatal records, and to test the assumption that preterm births may be considered optimally grown if they are not exposed to common factors that perturb fetal growth.

Prevalence and etiology of false normal aEEG recordings in neonatal hypoxic-ischaemic encephalopathy
Amplitude-integrated electroencephalography (aEEG) is a useful tool to determine the severity of neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE). Our aim was to assess the prevalence and study the origin of false normal aEEG recordings based on 85 aEEG recordings registered before six hours of age.

Each year an estimated 10 million newborns require assistance to initiate breathing, and about 900 000 die due to intrapartum-related complications. Further research is required in several areas concerning neonatal resuscitation, particularly in settings with limited resources where the highest proportion of intrapartum-related deaths occur.

Indirect neonatal hyperbilirubinemia (INH) is a common neonatal disorder worldwide which can remain benign if prompt management is available. However there is a higher morbidity and mortality risk in settings with limited access to diagnosis and care.

The supply of breast milk to preterm infants tends to occur at a lower rate than that recorded among term infants. We aimed to investigate the facilitators of and barriers to breastfeeding during hospital stay according to the experiences of mothers that gave birth to premature infants requiring admission to neonatal intensive care unit.

In this study, we conducted a chronic toxicity assessment of di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP) on the life history traits of Daphnia magna across three generations. In the first generation, the neonates (called F0 Daphnia) were raised in a control environment (C, toxin-free medium) or in a medium containing DEHP at three concentrations 5, 50, and 500 µgl-1, abbreviated as P5, P50, and P500, respectively. The offspring from the F0 control (called F1 Daphnia) were raised in toxin-free medium (denoted as C-C).
