The experiment was laid out in split plot design with two factors namely, tillage practices and different conservation farming split with three replications. The treatment consisted of three tillage practices viz. T1- Conventional tillage, T2 –Minimum tillage and T3 – Summer plouging and five conservation farming viz. C1-Opening conservation, C2- Intercropping with redgram, C3-Mulching, C4-Herbicide application, C5-Combination of all treatments (C1+C2+C3+C4). Observations of crops are analyzed in Split plot design having three replications.

An experiment was conducted at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana to find out the appropriate planting method and optimum nitrogen level for enhancing the seed yield of fodder maize (Zea mays L.) variety J-1006. The experiment was conducted in strip plot design with three sowing methods viz. zero tillage (ZT), conventional tillage (CT) and bed planting (BP) in vertical strips and four nitrogen levels (0, 100, 125 and 150 kg N/ha) in horizontal strips.

A study was carried out at S. V. Agricultural College, Tirupati to know the effect of foliar application of amino acids, micronutrients and growth promoting substances on growth parameters and yield of blackgram. It was observed that spraying of aminoacid (arginine and glutamine @ 1000 ppm) increased crop growth rate, relative growth rate, net assimilation rate, specific leaf area, specific leaf weight, total dry matter, seed yield and harvest index when compared to other treatments and control.

Light is a major constraint for the rice production. Twenty five rice genotypes was exposed to normal light and low light to study some growth parameters. The statistical analysis showed significant difference between the normal light and low light condition. Under low light condition the growth parameters specific leaf weight (SLW), Relative growth rate (RGR), net assimilation rate (NAR), crop growth rate (CGR) were decreased whereas specific leaf area (SLA), leaf area ratio (LAR), leaf area index (LAI) were increased.

The experiment was taken up at Horticultural Research station, Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology, Bhubaneswar, Orissa during Rabi season for the year 2013 & 2014. 500 seeds of variety Utkal Kumari (BT-10) were taken and subjected to single and combined mutagenic treatment as per the specification. Seedlings of the fifteen treatments were transplanted following Randomised Block Design (RBD) with three replications. Leaf area (dm2 /plant), Total Dry matter and chlorophyll content were measured 30, 60 and 75 days of transplanting.

A field experiment was carried out in Factorial Randomized Block Design (FRBD) with three replications to study the effect of sowing dates on yield and growth parameters on different wheat varieties. Nine different wheat varieties viz., GW 433, GW 431, HI 1571, GW 432, RAJ 3765, HD 2864, HI 1563, HD 3091 and PBW 670 sown in timely and late sown conditions (i.e., 22 November and 6 December 2012) were included in the study.

A study was conducted during kharif and summer seasons of 2013-14 and 2014-15 with twenty genotypes of green gram to study the growth parameters and seed yield of green gram genotypes with special reference to growing season. The mean monthly soil moisture content during crop growing season was 23.46 per cent for kharif season and 12.95 per cent for summer season. The soil was acidic with medium value of organic carbon, low in available N, P and K contents.

In the recent past, the grain yield of finger millet has reached a plateau, to break this barrier, multidisciplinary approach more precisely the physiological traits associated with biomass and grain yield would be highly relevant and hence, the present field experiment was conducted. Amongst the two relevant physiological traits (LAI and Net assimilation rate), the relationship of LAI with biomass and grain yield was positive and significant, while DM/LAD (Net assimilation rate) was not significant. The contribution of LAI and DM/LAD towards biomass at flowering was 69.3 and 30.

Field data verified by green house experiment were used to evaluate the response of Anastatica hierochuntica L. to the amount of rainfall. Field study of the populations was carried out in the runnel and depression microhabitats of gravel and sand sites. Four water treatments, equivalent to 100, 200, 500 and 1000 mm rainfall, were used to simulate different levels of water availability. Under 500 and 1000 mm rainfall, the size-class structure of A.
