Neutrophil count

Studies have shown that the absolute lymphocyte count (ALC) and the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) are related to the outcomes in patients with breast cancer receiving specifc chemotherapies. However, the reports have focussed on the initial blood test and there is a lack of evidence or data to support that dynamic changes of ALC or NLR are associated with the patients’ survival outcomes.

The association between the combination of platelet count and neutrophil–lymphocyte ratio (COP-NLR) at the time of adverse events during sunitinib treatment and prognosis is unclear, and prognostic models combining the prognostic factors of sunitinib have not been well studied.

Pan-immune-inflammation value (PIV) is defined by the neutrophil, platelet, monocyte, and lymphocyte counts and is associated with immune-checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) therapy outcomes in advanced non-small cell lung cancer (aNSCLC). However, PIV is dynamic under therapy and its longitudinal assessment may help predict efficacy.

The systemic immune-inflammation index (SII), based on peripheral platelet, neutrophil and lymphocyte counts, has been proven to be a promising prognostic indicator in various diseases. Hip fracture is a common injury among the older adults, and has become a global public health problem with high mortality and disability rates.

The relationship between biomarkers and hospital-acquired pneumonia (HAP) is understudied, especially in severe cases admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU). Compared with community-acquired pneumonia (CAP), HAP might have different traits regarding biomarkers due to the previous history in hospitals.

Asthma inflammatory phenotypes are often defined by relative cell counts of airway eosinophils/neutrophils. However, the importance of neutrophilia remains unclear, as does the effect of ICS treatment on asthma phenotypes and airway neutrophil function.

Chronic inflammation emerges as a feature of the pathogenesis of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) in experimental models. Alterations of circulating cell subsets have been observed in patients with PAH. We aimed to assess associations of the white blood cell count with disease severity and outcome in patients with PAH.

The aim of this study was to differentiate unspecific and self-limiting fever after bronchoscopy from fever due to infection by using serum procalcitonin, C-reactive protein and neutrophil count. Furthermore, frequency of fever after bronchoscopy and procedures as possible risk factors were evaluated.

The present investigation was carried out to study the prevalence of bacterial pathogens responsible for subclinical mastitis in buffaloes in and around Pantnagar in the state of Uttarakhand, India and the antibiogram pattern of the bacterial isolates to selected antibiotics. A total of 109 buffaloes were screened for SCM based on physical examination of udder, California mastitis test (CMT), Somatic cell count (SCC) and Differential cell count (DCC) on quarter’s milk samples. The quarter’s milk samples showing CMT reaction ≥ 2, SCC ≥ 0.

The patient, a 22-year-old female, was diagnosed with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (an aggressive non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma). The patient had completed 6 cycles of R-CHOP (from March 2018 to July 2018). After that, the patient was re-examined regularly monthly (manifested with moderate and hypochromic anemia, bone marrow aspiration was negative for malignancy). In November 2019, the complete blood cell (CBC) findings were as follows: White blood cell (WBC) count 81 x109 /liter, neutrophils 7%, lymphocytes 22%, monocytes 2%, blasts 69%; red blood cell count 2.6 x 106 /ml, hemoglobin 7.

A four years age cow was presented to the Veterinary Clinical Complex (VCC), College of Veterinary Science, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad with the history of decreased appetite, depression, decreased milk yield and with swollen mammary gland for four days. General clinical examination revealed increased body temperature of 1040 F and palpation of udder revealed swollen udder and animal is feeling pain on touch. Milk was stripped for testing and found flakes and the colour of the milk is yellowish brown.

The physiological and hemato-biochemical changes were recorded at 15, 30, and 60 minutes after immobilization with XZT (group A) and DexMZT (group B) in six sloth bears of each group. Significant physiological difference in heart rate between the groups at 30 minutes was observed which could be due to α 2 agonist mediated biphasic cardiovascular response causing bradycardia. Significant decrease in hemoglobin concentration at 30 minutes in group B could be attributed to α 2 agonist influencing shifting of fluids from extracellular to intracellular compartments.

Haematological parameters in ten apparently healthy adult horses at Mountain research Centre for Sheep and Goat, SKUAST Kashmir were examined to establish their reference values. The mean red blood cell (RBC) counts, packed cell volume (PCV), haemoglobin (Hb) concentration, white blood cell (WBC) counts, mean corpuscular volume (MCV), mean corpuscular haemoglobin (MCH) and mean corpuscular haemoglobin concentration (MCHC) were found to be comparable with the normal values. The mean absolute values of neutrophil, eosinophil, lymphocyte, monocyte and basophil were also within the normal range.

A total of 140 dogs were diagnosed with hepatobiliary disorders based on clinico, hemato-biochemical and diagnostic imaging. Out of which, 32 dogs were diagnosed with diffuse parenchymal disorders with ascites, 32 dogs with diffuse parenchymal disorders without ascites, 24 with focal parenchymal disorders and 52 with biliary tract disorders. Significantly decreased hemoglobin and total erythrocyte count with elevated total leucocyte count and neutrophil count were common hematological abnormalities.
