New records from Iran

In 2015 and 2016, the occurrence of the tribe Chelonini (Braconidae, Cheloninae) in the province of Hamadan (western Iran) was surveyed using malaise traps. In total, 12 species were discovered. Chelonus (C.) olgae Kokujev, 1895 is new to the fauna of Iran and one species, Chelonus (Microchelonus) subpamiricus Farahani & van Achterberg sp. nov., is new to science. The diagnostic characters and supplementary illustrations of the newly recorded species are provided.

Two new species of Aeolothrips from the northeast of Iran, A. jajarmi sp. nov. and A. oteri sp. nov., are described. One rare Asian species, A. intactus Pelikán 1963, is newly recorded from Iran. Diagnostic characters for each species as well as illustrations to distinguish them are provided.

Astragalus crassispinus Bunge and Astragalus nigrolineatus Sirj. & Rech.f. are new records from Iran. They belong to the sections Anthylloidei DC. and Dissitiflori DC. These species were endemic to Afghanistan.

Two species of Mylonchulus, M. kermaniensis and M. oceanicus, were recorded, described and illustrated for the first time from Vietnam. Mylonchulus kermaniensis was collected from Nghe An province, their measurements and description correspond well with the type population from Kerma, Iran except for the absence of vulval papilla(e). Mylonchulus oceanicus was found in Cao Loc, Lang Son province.

Isatis takhtajanii Avestisian is reported as a new record from western Iran. It is close to I. tinctoria L.; a list of diagnostic differences is provided. A more complete description of I. takhtajanii and a distribution map are given.

Oxytropis glabra (Lam.) DC. (Papilionaceae) and Carex pycnostachya Kar. & Kir. (Cyperaceae) are reported as new records for the flora of Iran. These species occur in wetland habitats sharply embedded in steppic vegetation in the Alborz Mts., N Iran. A morphological comparison between these new records and related species is presented.

Four moss species, namely, Tetraphis pellucida Hedw (Tetraphidaceae), Ulota crispa (Hedw.) Brid. (Orthotrichaceae), Haplohymenium triste (Ces.) Kindb. (Anomodontaceae), and Rhynchostegiella litorea (De Not.) Limpr. (Brachytheciaceae) are recorded from Iran.
