This study investigated climate trends in combination with a survey of the adaptive strategies of farmers toward climate change in Nghe An, and the outcomes are expected to provide proper adaptive strategies to climate change and useful information for regional planning in Nghe An province as well as other similar areas.

Litsea baviensis Lecomte, which belongs to the family Lauraceae. The plant was found in China, Thailand and Vietnam (Ban, 2003; Wu et al., 2008). In Vietnam, this species has been recorded in Lao Cai, Son La, Ha Noi, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Khanh Hoa provinces (Vietnamese as Bời lời Ba Vì). Notably, in the present study, this plant also was added distribution area in Vietnam (Dak Nong province).

Research objects: The thesis focused on economic research in Nam Dan District, Nghe An Province under the Nguyen Dynasty in the period 1802 - 1884. The total alkaloid and non-alkaloid fractions were extracted from the leave of Ficus hispida L., colleted in Nghe An province. Its cytotoxicity in vitro against three cancer cell lines has been investigated. The cytotocic activities of total alkaloids against these cancer cell lines are very strong than that of non-alkaloid fraction. From non-alkaloid part, betulinic acid was isolated and its structure was elucidated by spectroscopic methods.
