The main goal of the present study was to quantify the effects of water-saving regimes and fertilizer application improvement on water productivity, N-use efficiency, and yield. Furthermore, the study explored options for watersaving technologies and fertilizer application methods at the field scale to achieve yield security and reduced water use at a regional scale.

The spread of organic farming has led to the need for identifying alternative sources of high-quality organic fertilizer. Azolla is a genus of floating aquatic ferns which has high nitrogen and organic matter content due to its fast growth and symbiotic relationship with nitrogen-fixing bacteria (Anabaena-azollae).

Jiaogulan (Gynostemma pentaphyllum (Thunb.) Makino) is distributed mostly in mountainous areas, in shaded and humid places at 300-3200 meters above sea level. This study was conducted to determine the appropriate application dose of nitrogen for the growth of Jiaogulan under different shading conditions.

In the India, three to four cutting are possible, typical yield distribution is 30-35 percent in the first cutting, 35-40 percent in the second cutting and 20-25 percent in subsequent cutting. More consistently high quality forage is obtained by grazing, green chopping and ensiling early spring growth to stimulate recovery growth, fertilize with nitrogen immediately following the initial cutting (Smith et al., 2005).

Effect of Planting Time, Fertility Level and Plant Population on Development, Yield, Nutrient Uptake and Quality of Winter Popco A popcorn (Zea mays everta Sturt.) composite variety, namely V.L. Amber was assessed for their potential role as winter crop in the management at Agricultural Research Farm of BHU, Varanasi, India, under late sown condition of 2009-10 and 2010-11, respectively. The three date of sowing i.e.

Soil Test Crop Response studies involving Integrated Plant Nutrition System (STCR - IPNS) were conducted on a Typic Haplustalf of Tamil Nadu, Southern India for developing fertiliser prescriptions for desired yield targets of rice- rice sequence under System of Rice Intensification (SRI). By adopting the Inductive cum Targeted yield model, variations in soil fertility with reference to soil available nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) were established and test crop experiment was conducted with rice-rice sequence. The findings pertaining to rabi season is discussed in this paper.

Nitrogen (N) is a macronutrient that is essential for optimal plant growth and seed yield. Allotetraploid rapeseed (AnAnCnCn, 2n = 4x = 38) has a higher requirement for N fertilizers whereas exhibiting a lower N use efficiency (NUE) than cereal crops.
