The application of SBR in the treatment and nutrient recovery of sludge from the ISF can be a potential technical alternative to current technologies in the management of sludge. The objective of this study was to evaluate the removal efficiencies and recovery performance of nitrogen, carbon, and phosphorus (P) in sludge from the intensive whiteleg shrimp ponds under different sequences of react periods (aerobic/ anoxic).

Nitrogen-doped carbon nanodots (CDs) were prepared via the solvothermal method, using urea and triethylene glycol as the starting materials. The as-prepared CDs had individual diameters of approximately 100 nm and were in clusters of different sizes. The surface composition and optical properties of the as-prepared CDs were characterized. They exhibited multicolor emission properties in the visible range when excited with a wide wavelength range. The aqueous solution of the CDs was used in highly sensitive tartrazine determination.

The farmers generally use leaf colour as a visual and subjective indicator for N fertilizer need (Furuya, 1987). Since farmers generally prefer to keep leaves of the crop dark green, it leads to over application of fertilizers N resulting in low recovery efficiency.

In the India, three to four cutting are possible, typical yield distribution is 30-35 percent in the first cutting, 35-40 percent in the second cutting and 20-25 percent in subsequent cutting. More consistently high quality forage is obtained by grazing, green chopping and ensiling early spring growth to stimulate recovery growth, fertilize with nitrogen immediately following the initial cutting (Smith et al., 2005).

Spirulina is noticed for great applications on food supplements, animal feeds, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, biofuel, fertilizer, etc. Spirulina cultures in wastewaters could enhance the feasibility of commodities due to its ability to reduce the cost of biomass production and remove pollutants in wastewaters. This study investigates the effects of wastewater pretreatment using various aeration periods (i.e. from 3 to 7 days), the supplement of bicarbonate and N:P ratios on the growth of Spirulina sp. to produce protein-rich biomass. The work showed that Spirulina sp.

This study examines the potential of indigenous Eisenia fetida in the conversion of precomposted substrate mixtures of cow dung, chinar leaves (Platanus orientalis), paper and kitchen waste and quantification of nitrogen recovery from the waste combinations through economical methodology. The experiment was conducted at Mountain Livestock Research Institute, Manasbal, Kashmir. The treatments consisted of four pre-decomposed biowaste substrate combinations of cow dung, chinar leaves, paper waste and kitchen with different ratios.

Grain quality assessment of scented and non scented rice varieties under organic nutrient management
Global demand for organically grown foods is increasing and organic agriculture is growing fast in recent years. Organic farming encourages the reduction of agrochemicals and promotes soil conservation principles. Field experiment was conducted at Krishi Nagar, Research Farm, Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya, Jabalpur (MP) during kharif season 2018. Experiment was carried out using randomized complete block design involving twelve scented and non scented rice (Oryza sativa L.) varieties with three replications. An improved scented varieties viz.

The decline in the rice crop responses to applied fertilizer nutrients, inter alia, could be ascribed to emerging nutrient deficiencies on account of modern era of agriculture and inadequate or imbalanced application of fertilizers. It has become increasingly recognized around the world that N, P and K fertilizers alone are not always sufficient to provide balanced nutrition for optimal rice yields and quality, therefore, application of secondary and micronutrient elements has to be made.

Coconut shells were used as a raw material to produce powdered adsorbent carbon of size less than 2mm. The pH, electrical conductivity, proximate analysis (moisture content, volatile matter, ash content and fixed carbon content), ultimate analysis (Carbon, Hydrogen, Nitrogen and Sulphur content), bulk density, particle density, total organic carbon and yield (percentage recovery) were analyzed as per the standard procedures. The raw material of about 20 kg was converted to adsorbent carbon of about 6 kg through thermochemical conversion in the absence of oxygen.

Rain fed lowland traditional variety rice cultivation in Andaman and Nicobar islands in acidic soils with low inherent fertility is done with minimal use of fertilizer and thus have low yields and profits. Use of hybrids and balanced fertilization especially nitrogen (N) may improve the situation. In this context, a field study was made during 2016 rainy season to assess the performance of 8 hybrids (including a variety) in main plots and four N rates (0, 50, 100 and 150 kg/ha) as sub-plot treatments. Experiment was laid out in split plot design with three replications.

Present study has been designed to investigate the effects of beta cyfluthrin on haemato-biochemical alteration in both the sexes of Wistar rats (Rattus norvegicus). Beta cyfluthrin was orally administered, 38.0 mg/kg b. wt. (high dose), 12.66 mg/kg b. wt. (mid dose), 4.22 mg/kg b. wt. (low dose) for 90 days with high dose recovery.
