A field experiment was conducted at Central Institute for Cotton Research Farm, Nagpur for three years in medium deep clay loam soil. The experiment was laid out in RBD design with three replications consist of three herbicide based weed management packages in intercropping of non Bt cotton + soybean and two sole crops. Non Bt cotton+ soybean intercropping reduced seed cotton yields considerably in a year of very 640 mm higher rainfall over normal caused over growth of soybean.

The field study aimed to assess impact of environmental resistance factors on population dynamics of Earias vittella Fabricius and Helicoverpa armigera Hubner on Bt and non-Bt cotton was conducted at the Regional Research and Technology Transfer Station, Bhawanipatna, Kalahandi. The results revealed that the transgenic Bunny Bt cotton incorporated with Cry 1Ac and Cry 2Ab remained absolutely free from bollworms infestation throughout the crop season in 2013 and 2014.

A comparative study of socio economic impact on Bt cotton and Non-Bt cotton was carried out in Warangal district of Telangana State during the year 2016. The study was conducted with the objective to evaluate the socio economic characteristics of both Bt cotton and Non-Bt cotton farm households. Jangoan block was purposively selected for the study as it was recorded as highest area under Non-Bt and Bt cotton cultivation. Total 120 farm households were surveyed for the study in which 60 farmers were selected from Bt cotton cultivars and another 60 from Non-Bt cotton.

Cotton has a proud place among the crops from earliest times. Apart from seed cotton the cotton seed oil also has very good quality and vitamin E. Among 24 Bt and their counterparties non-Bt hybrids evaluated JKCH2245 non-Bt, K-5038 Bt, KDCHH-441 Bt, NCEN-2R non-Bt, Dhruva Bt and JKCH-99 Bt hybrids were identified as stable yielders for south and central India.

Cotton has a proud place among the crops from earliest times. Apart from seed cotton the cotton seed oil also has very good quality and vitamin E. The oil content statistically positively correlation with seed cotton yield, seed index, bolls per plant, boll weight and sympodial branches. Monopodial branches exhibit no significant association with oil content.

Totally 15 Bt cotton hybrids and their counter non Bt cotton hybrids were screened against sucking pests of cotton like aphids and whiteflies under unprotected conditions.

The two year experiments were conducted under field and in the laboratory with fifteen cotton cultivars as treatments replicated thrice. Observation on major sucking pest viz., aphid, leafhopper, whitefly and thrips were recorded on five plants and biochemical constituent viz., crude protein, total phenols and total soluble sugar were estimated from the leaves of cotton cultivars collected at 45 and 60 days after emergence. The biochemical were estimated by standard methods and correlated with sucking pests.

A two year field experiment was conducted to elucidate relation of abscission of fruiting structures in cotton (Gossypium hirsutum) with abiotic factors and effect of agronomic intervention viz., spacing (90 × 60 cm and 90 × 45 cm) and NPK levels (50:25:25, 62.5:31.25:31.25 and 75:37.5:37.5 kg NPK ha-1 ) on abscission of fruiting structures, leaf reddening and chlorophyll content in Bt and non-Bt cotton of same genotype, following split plot design with 4 replicates at Akola.

The study was conducted in Andhra Pradesh state during 2017-18. A total of 120 Bt cotton tenant farmers were selected randomly for the study. Data was collected with interview schedule. To study the nature of the relationship between the profile characteristics and knowledge level of Bt cotton tenant farmers, correlation coefficients (r) was computed and the values were presented in Table 1. The relationship between the profile and knowledge level of Bt cotton tenant farmers were tested by null hypothesis and empirical hypothesis.
