Continuous use of chemical fertilizers without organic sources poses soil health issues whereas organic manures using alone without inorganics could not be able to fulfill the requirement of high nutrient demanding crops due to the bulk and slow-acting nature of these organic fertilizer sources. However, neither organic fertilizers nor inorganic fertilizers alone can maintain productivity. The major yield limiting factors in crops production in Indian soils are NPS deficiencies.

Rice crop accounts for nearly a third of the total area under food grains in India and is the staple food for a significant portion of the world‟s population. Widely varying factors influence the growth of rice in different rice growing areas and render the crop susceptible to various pathogenic and non-pathogenic diseases, resulting in extensive damage of grain and straw yield. Bacterial leaf blight disease of rice caused by Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo) is a serious menace to rice production in India, besides other rice producing countries.

Powdery mildew caused by Oidium mangiferae is a serious disease of mango inflicting considerable quantitative as well as qualitative losses. Though the disease can be successfully managed by agro-chemicals but due to non-eco-friendly nature, high cost and other side effects of chemical control measures, search for eco-friendly, sustainable, low cost strategies becomes inevitable.

An experiment was conducted to find out efficacy of different non-conventional chemicals to manage the early blight disease in potato. Study was carried out with seven chemicals i.e. lithium sulphate, calcium chloride, oxalic acid, salicylic acid, iron sulphate, potassium bicarbonate and ascorbic acid in in vitro condition for their conidial germination efficacy against Alternaria solani.

Effect of Integrated Nutrient Mana Integrated use of vermicompost, biofertilizers and chemical fertilizers was carried out to evaluate the yield performance of WH-711 under saline and non saline irrigation water during rabi seasons of 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 at Hisar, Haryana. Effective tillers/mrl, ear head length (cm), number of grains/spike, grain, straw and biological yields (q/ha) were significantly higher in canal water as compared to saline water during both the years.gement on Yield and Yield Attributes and Economics of Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.

Stem rot of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) caused by Sclerotium rolfsii Sacc. is a serious fungal disease of groundnut. Conventional uses of fungicides are toxic to environment thus an eco-friendly new approach of management with nonconventional chemicals as seed treatment was undertaken. Seeds of groundnut were soaked in non-conventional chemicals namely, ZnSO4, ZnCl2, BaSO4, BaCl2, Cycocel and Indole Acetic Acid (I.A.A) @ 10-4 and 10 -5 Molar concentrations for 24 hours to evaluate its bio-efficacy against the disease.

Tomato is native to Central and South America. It is a popular and versatile food ranking third in the world’s vegetable production, next to potato and sweet potato and placing itself in first place among the processing crops. A wide range of insects attack tomato and forms major limiting factor in its successful cultivation and in improvement of yield. In addition to pests Viral diseases are also considered as a important factor which causes severe yield losses at most serious level.

Grain quality assessment of scented and non scented rice varieties under organic nutrient management
Global demand for organically grown foods is increasing and organic agriculture is growing fast in recent years. Organic farming encourages the reduction of agrochemicals and promotes soil conservation principles. Field experiment was conducted at Krishi Nagar, Research Farm, Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya, Jabalpur (MP) during kharif season 2018. Experiment was carried out using randomized complete block design involving twelve scented and non scented rice (Oryza sativa L.) varieties with three replications. An improved scented varieties viz.

Banded leaf and Sheath blight of maize caused by Rhizoctonia solani f.sp. Sasakii [teleomorph: Thanatephorus cucumeris] is of worldwide occurrence and is known to cause substantial yield losses. It is a major production constraint in high yielding varieties under intensive maize production systems. The pathogen has a very wide host range and exhibits considerable pathogenic and molecular variability. Due to non-availability of highly resistant cultivars, the management of banded leaf and sheath blight primarily relies on chemical control.

Tomato is affected by a large number of diseases. Among these, collars rot disease of tomato cause by S. rolfsii is a threatening disease in eastern coastal regions of Odisha. Since, this disease is soil borne in nature, it is very difficult to control by chemical fungicides. The native rhizosphere soil of tomato was used for isolation and screening of bacterial antagonists for their efficacy and growth promotion potential. A total of 54 bacterial isolates were isolated from rhizosphere of tomato of which five isolates viz.

Continuous applications of organic manures and inorganic fertilizers have been reported to affect soil pH, electrical conductivity, Soil organic carbon, available N, P and K. Electrical conductivity has been used as chemical indicator of soil biological quality in response to crop management practices. Continuous application of organic manure and inorganic fertilizer decreased soil pH but increased total soluble salt concentration.

A weed is essentially any plant which grows where it is not required. A weed can be thought of as any plant growing in the wrong place at the wrong time and doing more harm than good. Weeds are the most severe and widespread biological constraint to crop production, and cause invisible damage till the crop is harvested. The composition and competition by weeds are dynamic and dependent on soil, climate, cropping and management factors. Weeds decrease the value of land, particularly perennial weeds, which tend to accumulate on long fallows; increase cost of cleaning.

Application of waste bulk moulded composite (BMC) as a filler for isotactic polypropylene composites
The aim of this study was to produce isotactic polypropylene based composites filled with waste thermosetting bulk moulded composite (BMC). The influence of BMC waste addition (5, 10, 20 wt%) on composites structure and properties was investigated. Moreover, additional studies of chemical treatment of the filler were prepared. Modification of BMC waste by calcium stearate (CaSt) powder allows to assess the possibility of the production of composites with better dispersion of the filler and more uniform properties.

Honey is a natural, sweet, and syrupy fluid which has been used in Vietnam in a variety of ways; as a food supplement, beauty product, and natural drug. However, quality control and characterization of honey are blind problems. Consumers, and even market management committees, must believe in the producer’s quality standards without using any special techniques to evaluate the botanical origins of honey in the Vietnamese market. The chemical composition and physical properties of natural honey vary per plant species of which the honey bees scrounged.
