In this work, we numerically study how various input beam profiles influence the linear and nonlinear light propagation at the interface of two-dimensional (2D) binary waveguide arrays. It is revealed that, due to the presence of the central homogeneous interfaced waveguides, light beams are effectively steered into the preferred direction.

In previous articles, we proposed single kernel and multikernel equalizers for nonlinear satellite channels with significant improvements in performance. The results demonstrated that the advantages of kernel equalizers over radius basis function neural equalizers are the ability to achieve overall convergence, which results in smaller output errors.

Efficient mitigation of power amplifier (PA) nonlinear distortion in hybrid precoding based broadband mmWave systems is an open research problem. In this article, we first carry out detailed signal and distortion modeling in broadband multi-user hybrid MIMO systems with a bank of nonlinear PAs in each subarray. Building on the derived models, we then propose a novel digital predistortion (DPD) solution that requires only a single DPD unit per transmit chain or subarray.

The combination of the kernel trick and the least-mean-square (LMS) algorithm provides an interesting sample by sample update for an adaptive equalizer in reproducing Kernel Hilbert Spaces (RKHS), which is named here the KLMS. Corresponding to the domestic needs in development of nuclear instruments, this work presents a design and construction of an ADC8K module with successive approximation method. Some experimental results are as follows: Differential nonlinearity (DNL%) = 1.42, integral non-linearity (INL% = 0.58) and χ2 = 8.109 proved that mentioned system can be used with considerable reliability in practical nuclear engineering.

Nonlinear Amplification of Synchronous CDMA Overview As we have described in Chapter 3, the SS/CDMA uses orthogonal CDMA for both uplink and downlink transmission. On board the satellite, each CDMA channel is routed to a destination downlink beam by the Code Division Switch (CDS). Multichannel Systems In principle, the capacity of optical communication systems can exceed 10 Tb/s because of a large frequency associated with the optical carrier. In practice, however, the bit rate was limited to 10 Gb/s or less until 1995 because of the limitations imposed by the dispersive and nonlinear effects and by the speed of electronic components. Since then, transmission of multiple optical channels over the same fiber has provided a simple way for extending the system capacity to beyond 1 Tb/s.
