  • In this paper, we report a numerical calculation of the influence of structural parameters on the supercontinuum generation of photonic crystal fibers. A photonic crystal fiber based on the fused silica glass, eight rings of air holes ordered in a hexagonal lattice, is proposed. Guiding properties in terms of dispersion and confinement loss of the fundamental mode are also studied numerically. As a result, the broadband width of the supercontinuum spectrum will increase when the lattice pitch decreases or the diameter of air hole in the cladding increases.

  • In this paper, we numerically observed the trajectories of free bead in embedding fluid under the nonlinear optical tweezers using thin layer of Acid Blue 29 (NOTAB). Using the set of general Langevin equations describing motions of particles in trapping region, the influence of some parameters on free bead’s trajectories is investigated by the finite difference method.

  • On the basis of the input-output intensity relationship of the signal, this paper will evaluate and discuss the role of the position of the signal going into the Nonlinear Michelson Interferometer (NMI) and its influence on the bistable characteristics. From that results, the position of signal going into the NMI will be chosen, so that the interferometer acts as an optical bistability device.

  • The results show that the stabe region of the optical tweezer depends on the nonlinear coefficient of refractive index. Moreover, the stable region could be brokendown with a critical value of the nonlinear coefficient of refractive index of the surrounding medium irradiated by Gaussian laser pulse described by given parameters as intensity, duration and radius of beam waist.

  • We consider a model of a passively mode-locking fiber ring laser bult using a saturable absorber and a chirped fiber Bragg grating to balance dispersion and nonlinearity. The evolution of the slowly envelope of the optical field in a loop fiber subject to dispersion , Kerr nonlinearity, frequency- chirp and nonlinear absorption is given by the generalized complex Ginzburg-Landau equation. The influence of the frequency-chirp on the pulse is simulated and discussed, and the stationary conditions concerning the chirp parameter are found out for our laser.

  • The study of electromagnetic radiation (EM) can be divided into two distinct areas: full solution of Maxwell's Equations relevant to the specific boundary conditions in a special general case and into application of EM radiation that results in modern life e.g. medicine, telecommunication, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) etc. The reader should have a specific scientific background and must be familiar with the fundamental ideas of EM theory for the first area. Basic understanding of applying the radiation techniques in modern life is needed for the second.
