Research purpose: to build an analytical model representing the cross Kerr nonlinear coefficient of a four-energy quantum system in the inverse Y configuration in the presence of the Doppler effect. Apply the analytical results to the case of 87Rb at room temperature. Studying the ability to control and enhance the cross Kerr nonlinearity according to the parameters of the associated laser field and the temperature of the environment.

OFDM is a potential candidate as the most promising next-generation optical networks such as passive optical networks and optical transport networks, due to their simple configuration based on low cost, high speed data rates, high spectral efficiency, high quality of service and robustness against narrow band interference, frequency selective fading, and chromatic dispersion.

In this study, we propose an optical back propagation (OBP) approach for compensation of the nonlinear and dispersion distortions in direct-detection optical OFDM system. The proposed OBP using split-step Fourier method is implemented at transmitter that is suitable for high-rate OFDM-based LR-PONs applications.

In this paper, we report a numerical calculation of the influence of structural parameters on the supercontinuum generation of photonic crystal fibers. A photonic crystal fiber based on the fused silica glass, eight rings of air holes ordered in a hexagonal lattice, is proposed. Guiding properties in terms of dispersion and confinement loss of the fundamental mode are also studied numerically. As a result, the broadband width of the supercontinuum spectrum will increase when the lattice pitch decreases or the diameter of air hole in the cladding increases.
