Nonperipheral tetra-substituted phthalocyanines
-
The synthesis, characterization, and spectroscopic properties of novel nonperipherally tetrasubstituted metallophthalocyanines (zinc, cobalt, copper, manganese, and indium) bearing 4 (7-(trifluoromethyl)quinolin-4-yl)oxy units has been reported. The new compounds have been characterized using UV-Vis, IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, 19F NMR, and mass spectroscopic data. The absorption properties of these new complexes were compared to those of peripherally substituted phthalocyanine derivatives.

New nonperipherally and peripherally tetrasubstituted zinc(II) phthalocyanine complexes containing 1- benzylpiperidin-4-ol groups and their quaternized derivatives are reported in this work. These complexes were characterized successfully and their photophysical and photochemical properties were studied. These properties were determined in dimethylsulfoxide for all studied complexes and in water and water + Triton X-100 solutions for ionic Zn(II) phthalocyanines.

Novel, nonperipherally tetrasubstituted cationic metal-free and metallophthalocyanines (Zn, In) were synthesized in the present study. The binding constants, the disappearance of quenching effect of all cationic phthalocyanines on the fluorescence intensity of SYBR Green–disodium salt of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) from calf thymus complex, and the changes in Tm of double helix DNA with thermal denaturation profile were investigated by UV-Vis and fluorescence spectrophotometric methods.
