Proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9), the last member of the proprotein convertase family, functions as a classic regulator of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) by interacting with low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR). Recent studies have shown that PCSK9 can affect the occurrence and development of tumors and can be used as a novel therapeutic target. However, a comprehensive pan-cancer analysis of PCSK9 has yet to be conducted.

This compound converted to Mannich base which interne illustrated as tridentate ligand of NO2-type. Meanwhile, the organic synthesis of the compounds is not an easy task, especially lactonization; hint naphthafuran-2-one has never been prepared from amino nitrile previously. Selected metal ions of known anticancer activity interacted with the ligand to present novel complexes to figure out the cytotoxicity effect of both organic and inorganic parts against cancer cell line.

Genomic medicine has considerable potential to provide novel diagnostic and therapeutic solutions for patients who have molecularly complex diseases and who are not responding to existing therapies. To bridge the gap between genomic medicine and clinical practice, integration of various data types, resources, and joint international initiatives will be required.

Single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) provides valuable insights into human islet cell types and their corresponding stable gene expression profiles. However, this approach requires cell dissociation that complicates its utility in vivo.

Changes in cell-type composition of tissues are associated with a wide range of diseases and environmental risk factors and may be causally implicated in disease development and progression. However, these shifts in cell-type fractions are often of a low magnitude, or involve similar cell subtypes, making their reliable identification challenging.

Breast cancer (BC) is the most common malignant tumor among women worldwide. Tissue transglutaminase 2 (TG2) has been reported as a major player across several types of cancer. However, the effects of TG2 in breast cancer are less known.

Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are abnormally expressed in a broad type of cancers and play significant roles that regulate tumor development and metastasis. However, the pathological roles of lncRNAs in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) remain largely unknown. Here we aimed to investigate the role and regulatory mechanism of the novel lncRNA RPL34-AS1 in the development and progression of ESCC.

Extranodal extension (ENE) is an adverse prognostic factor for oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), and patients with OSCC along with ENE require neck dissection. In this study, we developed a novel ENE histologybased pathological predictor using MMP14 expression patterns in small biopsy specimens.

Pulmonary large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (LCNEC) and small cell lung cancer (SCLC) are two types of high-grade neuroendocrine carcinomas of the lung with poor prognosis. LCNEC has not been thoroughly studied due to its rarity, data are also lacking regarding the survival comparison and prognosis analysis of patients with locally advanced or metastatic LCNEC and SCLC.

Breast malignancies are now the most common and deadliest type of neoplasms among women worldwide. Novel therapeutic approaches are needed to combat advanced stages of breast cancer. In this study, we aimed to investigate the expression and co-expression status of three immune checkpoints (PD-1, PD-L1, and LAG-3), as well as tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) scores, and to further establish their potential correlations with clinicopathologic features.

We propose a novel cell structure of spineorbit torque (SOT) magnetic random-access memory (MRAM), which consists of three transistors and two canted-type x SOT magnetic tunnel junctions (3T2M) with opposite canting angle on a shared heavy-metal, enabling a self-referencing scheme.

The capsular material from Lactobacillus plantarum IMB19, an isolate from fermented vegetables, has been analyzed and our results demonstrate that most of the coat of this bacterium consists of glycerol- and ribitol-type teichoic acids, further decorated with other substituents (α-glucose and alanine), and of a capsular polysaccharide (CPS) with a linear nonasaccharide repeating unit, rich in rhamnose, interconnected to the next via a phosphodiester bridge.

The long introns of mammals are pools of evolutionary potential due to the multiplicity of sequences that permit the acquisition of novel exons. However, the permissibility of genes to this type of acquisition and its influence on the evolution of cell regulation is poorly understood.

We present the software Condition-specific Regulatory Units Prediction (CRUP) to infer from epigenetic marks a list of regulatory units consisting of dynamically changing enhancers with their target genes. The workflow consists of a novel pre-trained enhancer predictor that can be reliably applied across cell types and species, solely based on histone modification ChIP-seq data.

Tissues are complex milieus consisting of numerous cell types. Several recent methods have attempted to enumerate cell subsets from transcriptomes. However, the available methods have used limited sources for training and give only a partial portrayal of the full cellular landscape. Here we present xCell, a novel gene signature-based method, and use it to infer 64 immune and stromal cell types.

Most existing dimensionality reduction and clustering packages for single-cell RNA-seq (scRNA-seq) data deal with dropouts by heavy modeling and computational machinery. Here, we introduce CIDR (Clustering through Imputation and Dimensionality Reduction), an ultrafast algorithm that uses a novel yet very simple implicit imputation approach to alleviate the impact of dropouts in scRNA-seq data in a principled manner.

Although genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have identified over 100 genetic loci associated with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), our ability to translate these results into disease understanding and novel therapeutics is limited. Most RA GWAS loci reside outside of protein-coding regions and likely affect distal transcriptional enhancers.

We develop a novel computational method, NucHMM, to identify functional nucleosome states associated with cell type-specific combinatorial histone marks and nucleosome organization features such as phasing, spacing and positioning. We test it on publicly available MNase-seq and ChIP-seq data in MCF7, H1, and IMR90 cells and identify 11 distinct functional nucleosome states.
