This paper presents the study on developing the physics core, control module, and human-machine interface (HMI) of DalatSim. The nodalization of DNRR used for DalatSim was based on the reported numerical model in the Safety Analysis Report (SAR) in 2012. DalatSim can simulate operational procedures and several hypothetical transient accidents of DNRR.

After completion of design calculation of the Dalat Nuclear Research Reactor (DNRR) for conversion from high-enriched uranium fuel (HEU) to low-enriched uranium (LEU) fuel, the commissioning programme for DNRR with entire core loaded with LEU fuel was successfully carried out from 24 November 2011 to 13 January 2012. The experimental results obtained during the implementation of commissioning programme showed a good agreement with design calculations and affirmed that the DNRR with LEU core have met all safety and exploiting requirements.

There is an idea to use this accelerator for scientific research as well. For this purpose, a new beam line should be designed. A high energy resolution with minimum momentum spread is a key point for designing. A preliminary design of the beam line using matrix codes, modeling 3D optical elements, magnetic field calculations, and beam dynamics analysis is presented in this paper.

The TRIGA fuel of the Philippine Research Reactor-1 (PRR-1) will be used in a subcritical reactor assembly (SRA) to strengthen and advance nuclear science and engineering expertise in the Philippines. SRA offers a versatile and safe training and research facility since it can produce neutrons through nuclear fission reaction without achieving criticality. In this work, we used a geometrically detailed model of the PRR-1 TRIGA fuel to design a subcritical reactor assembly and calculate physical parameters of different fuel configuration.

This report introduces a new computer program, so-called MSAP-1.0, which has been developed at the Dalat Nuclear Research Institute, for data processing and interpretation of the experimental data sheets based on the multivariate data analysis techniques. In this preliminary version of the program, the dimensions of a given data set to be analyzed are up to 50 variables and thousands of observations. The main functions in this version are principal component analysis, cluster analysis, standardization and output data plot.
