In this paper, the protective role of melatonin in counteracting metal-induced free radical generation was highlighted. Using the HPLC-FLD technique melatonin was identified and quantified in the roots and leaves of lemon balm (Melissa officinalis L.), grown under photoperiod conditions. Furthermore, the response of plants pre-treated with exogenous 0.1 mM melatonin to the increased zinc (Zn) and cadmium (Cd) concentrations was observed, with changes in mineral (Ca, Mg), physiological and antioxidant status of the plant during heavy metals stress.

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kurukshetra, Haryana has conducted Front Line Demonstrations (FLD) in different villages of Kurukshetra to find out the yield gap between improved package practices applied in FLD with traditional farmers practices (FP) on wheat crop (WH-1105) under irrigated condition. It was observed that, the yield of wheat in FLD were ranges from 54.6 to 56.8 q/ha whereas, in FP it were found 51.2 to 53.6 q/ha during 2017- 18 to 2018-19.

The variety notification proposal has been submitted to the PPV & FRA with DNA finger printing profile for approval (Bapu et al., 2017). This variety is observed with PSMV infection in a field experiment during 2017 at AC&RI, Coimbatore and during 2020 in a FrontLine Demonstration on moisture conservation practices in Redgram conducted in a farmers‟ field, Kutaldampatti, Madurai.

Cumin is one of the important major seed spice crops, considered to be a remunerative cash crop mainly grown in the western part of the country particularly in Rajasthan and Gujarat occupying about 8.8 lakh hectares area with annual production of about 4.9 lakh tonnes. Frontline demonstration is one of the most important and powerful tools for transfer of technology. Keeping in view of effective extension approach of FLDs for dissemination of technology FLDs on cumin conducted by KVK, Pali, Rajasthan was assessed.

Bihar lies in the river plains of the basin of the river Ganga. It is endowed with the fertile alluvial soil with abundant water resources. This makes the Agriculture of Bihar rich and diverse. The state has about 3.2 million ha under rice cultivation, which is mostly rainfed covering both uplands and shallow lowland ecosystems. The area has decreased from 36.57 to 32.22 lakh ha during the last six years. Rice is cultivated in 37 districts of Bihar.

A study was conducted to assess impact of KVK interventions in adopted villages of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kalikiri. The objective of the study was to ascertain knowledge and adoption level of specific crop technologies assessed/demonstrated through various interventions during 2016-17 to 2018-19 by KVK. Adopted cluster villages Addavaripalli, Mittapalli and Balamvaripalli were taken for study and 20 beneficiary farmers were selected randomly from each cluster. The data were collected through personal interview schedule.

Frontline demonstration (FLD) is one of the most powerful tools for transfer of technology. Keeping in view of an effective extension approach attempts are made by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Pratapgarh to know the yield gaps and extent of technology adoption between improved package and practices under Front Line Demonstration (FLD) and farmer’s practice (FP) of mustard crop. Front line demonstrations (FLDs) were conducted at 243 farmers’ fields to demonstrate the impact of improved agro-techniques on production and economic benefits from 2014-15 to 2018-19.

The important extension techniques to persuade the farmers about latest farm technologies are frontline demonstrations (FLDs). The present study was conducted continuously during three years from rabi 2015-16 to 2017-18 to assess the impact of 410 frontline demonstrations conducted on chickpea and lentil in 164 ha area across thirteen villages of Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh falls under Vindhyan Plateau Agro Climatic Zone.
