This research investigates the effect of cobalt precursor and calcination time on the morphology and catalytic activity of Co3O4 films in the oxygen evolution reaction (OER). Co3O4 films with porous flower-like nanostructures were obtained using cobalt nitrate as a cobalt precursor, while cobalt chlorides were used to produce porous nanoneedle structures Co3O4 film.

In this study, a simple technique combining conventional electrospinning and facile gas–solid reaction for fabricating PAN/Ag2S nanofibers was presented and tested. The obtained fibers would have excellent properties such as the flexibility of PAN nanofibers and efficient photocatalysis of the Ag2S nanoshells under visible light. The photocatalytic elimination of RhB in water was used to evaluate the activity and application of the synthesized material under visible light irradiation.

Ebook "Synthesis of saturated oxygenated heterocycles I: 5- and 6-membered rings" are dedicated to the synthesis of saturated oxygenated heterocycles and consist of eight chapters covering the synthesis of 5- to 16-membered ring cyclic ethers and lactones. Rather than offer an exhaustive description of the synthesis of cyclic ethers and lactones, these volumes present methods and strategies to synthesize heterocycles and thus helping the reader to find suitable methods for obtaining a desired saturated oxygenated heterocycle.

Ebook "Electrochemistry of N4 macrocyclic metal complexes - Volume 1: Energy (Second edition)" describes the state of the art regarding molecular catalysts such as MN4 metal complexes, like porphyrins and phthalocyanines. This volume focuses on the particular case of the electrocatalysis of the reduction of O2 for practical applications in fuel cells and air batteries. Indeed, active and stable materials have been developed in the last 5 years where MN4 catalytic systems can be obtained by the pyrolysis of starting materials that do not necessarily involve MN4 complexes.

Ebook "Abiotic stress adaptation in plants: Physiological, molecular and genomic foundation" on abiotic stress attempts to search for possible answers to several basic questions related to plant responses towards abiotic stresses. Presented in this book is a holistic view of the general principles of stress perception, signal transduction and regulation of gene expression. Further, chapters analyze not only model systems but extrapolate interpretations obtained from models to crops.

In this study, the efficiency of wastewater treatment by synthetic CPAM and commercial CPAM C4008 was analyzed by indicators of chemical oxygen demand (COD), biological oxygen demand (BOD), total suspended solids (TSS), and turbidity. The surface structure of the obtained sludge was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM).

Lake sediments are very useful for providing high-resolution records of geomagnetic field variations, especially for the Holocene period. We present high-resolution paleomagnetic records from three cores (KCL12P1, P2, and P3) recovered from Küçükçekmece Lagoon, located at the northern shoreline of the Sea of Marmara, Turkey. The cores were subjected to a comprehensive paleomagnetic and rock magnetic investigation using oriented samples.

We aimed to construct a prediction tool for postoperative oxygen therapy and determine predictors of duration of use among children undergoing non-cardiac surgery. Methods: Data from this case-control study was obtained from a database of 9820 children aged < 15 years who underwent general anesthesia between January 2010 and December 2013 at a tertiary care hospital in southern Thailand.

Three new polysubstituted isoindole-1,3-diones were prepared from 2-ethyl-5-hydroxy-3a,4,5,7a-tetrahydroisoindole-1,3-dione. The reaction of 2-ethyl-5-hydroxy-3a,4,5,7a-tetrahydro-isoindole-1,3-dione with m-CPBA gave the corresponding epoxide. The triacetate derivative was obtained via cis-hydroxylation using OsO4 , followed by acetylation. An aromatic derivative, a secondary reaction product, was also formed during the acetylation.

The effects of ionic strength and temperature on the dissociation constants of adefovir (PMEA) and cidofovir (HPMPC) used as antiviral drugs were studied at 298 K, 308 K, and 318 K in aqueous media and at different ionic strength backgrounds of NaCl potentiometrically. The dissociation constants of the ligands were determined via the calculation of the titration data with the SUPERQUAD computer program. The thermodynamic parameters (∆G, ∆H , and ∆S) for all species were calculated.

The prepared materials were characterized by using BET, TGA, XRD, and TEM techniques. Cyclic voltammetry was used in order to determine the electrocatalytic activity of the prepared catalyst for hydrogen oxidation and oxygen reduction reactions that occur in proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs). The Pt loading obtained over the composite material was around 10%. TEM results showed highly dispersed and small nanoparticles over the composite material by using scCO2 deposition.

The influence of various operational parameters including initial dye concentration, catalyst concentration, pH value, inlet gas concentration, and type of irradiation source was investigated on the efficiency of the photocatalytic ozonation removal of DR54. Various inorganic and organic reactive oxygen species (ROS) scavengers were applied to investigate the mechanism of photocatalytic ozonation. In addition, a three-layer perceptron neural network was developed for modeling the relationship between the operational parameters and decolorization efficiency of the dye.

The presented work is devoted to the development of synthesis methods for novel 2-[(3-aminoalkyl-(alkaryl-, aryl-))-1H -1,2,4-triazolo]anilines. Abovementioned compounds were obtained via hydrazinolysis (Ing-Manske procedure) and acid hydrolysis of corresponding N -acylated{([1,2,4]triazolo[1,5- c ]quinazolin-2-yl)alkyl-(alkaryl-, aryl-)}amines. The regioselectivity of hydrazinolysis and hydrolysis were established. The features of spectral characteristics were studied and discussed.

Water Quality Index (WQI) is a single dimensional number that aggregates information from many water quality parameters according to a defined method. WQI is accepted as an efficient tool for water quality management. In this study, WQI of Saigon river for public water supply was calculated from nine water quality parameters including pH, suspended solids (SS), dissolved oxygen (DO), chemical oxygen demand (COD), nitrite, ammonia, phosphate, total dissolved iron and total coliform based on water quality data obtained monthly from January 2016 to December 2019 at three sampling sites.

Hypoxia-induced genes are potential targets in cancer therapy. Responses to hypoxia have been extensively studied in vitro, however, they may differ in vivo due to the specific tumor microenvironment. In this study gene expression profiles were obtained from fresh human lung cancer tissue fragments cultured ex vivo under different oxygen concentrations in order to study responses to hypoxia in a model that mimics human lung cancer in vivo.

Tumors drive blood vessel growth to obtain oxygen and nutrients to support tumor expansion, and they also can induce lymphatic vessel growth to facilitate fluid drainage and metastasis. These processes have generally been studied separately, so that it is not known how peritumoral blood and lymphatic vessels grow relative to each other.

Evolvulus nummularius, is ethnomedicinally used as a medicine for hysteria, to cure burns, cuts, wounds and scropion stings. This plant has antihelminthic activity, wound healing activity, poor sedative and anticonvulsant properties. In this study, the antibacterial activity of crude methanol extract of E. nummularius was studied against three gram negative multidrug resistant strains E. aerogenes, P. aeruginosa and K. pneumoniae. This plant extract showed both bacteriostatic and bactericidal activity against all these bacterial strains. The extract was most active against E. aerogenes.
