This study deals the biological processes of root formation of the five olive varieties in correlation with IBA treatment in different concentrations. The method consisted of five olive cultivars and five concentrations of indol butyric acid (IBA), with the greenish method, and nebulization. Experimental varieties have been: Kalinjot, Koker madh Berati, Ullastra, Nisjoti, Frantoio.

The present investigation for assessment of genetic divergence of horticultural traits in 18 olive genotypes was carried out at experimental farm of ICAR-CITH, Srinagar. All the selected genotypes differed significantly for selected traits. Thirteen economic traits were scored and subjected to multivariate analysis. Results revealed a considerable phenotypic variability among olive genotypes.

This paper gives 25-year results for olive biodiversity because its resources are of great interest for environmental protection and mainly for finding all links within each ecosystem. The method was based to the descriptive morphological and molecular characters of the tree and organs, which has enabled the characterization and identification of genotypes.

Past clonal propagation of olive trees is intimately linked to grafting. However, evidence on grafting in ancient trees is scarce, and not much is known about the source of plant material used for rootstocks.

We studied 200 trees belonging to 20 accessions of cultivated olive (O. europaea L.) from 4 regions of origin, evaluated by means of agromorphological traits and simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers. The agromorphological traits showed high variation between genotypes and significant correlation coefficients were obtained among the values recorded in two consecutive years, 2013 and 2014.

Turkey’s average share of world olive production is between 7% and 10% and the country is the fourth biggest table olive and olive oil producer in the world. More than fifty olive cultivars have been commercialized in Turkey and there are numerous olive genotypes in different olive-growing regions in Turkey that differ from each other in terms of leaf, flower, and fruit characteristics.
