This study aims to evaluate perioperative, oncological, and functional outcomes of laparoscopic partial nephrectomy performed for cT1bN0M0 renal cell carcinoma at Binh Dan Hospital. Data were collected on 37 patients who had undergone laparoscopic partial nephrectomy for cT1bN0M0 renal cell carcinoma from January 2021 to September 2023.

Patient-centredness has become a central quality indicator for oncology care. Elements include shared decision-making, patient navigation and integration of psychosocial care, which impact patient-reported and clinical outcomes. Despite efforts to promote patient-centred care in Germany in recent decades, implementation remains fragmented.

Continued smoking after a cancer diagnosis can be associated with lower treatment tolerance, poorer outcomes, and reduced quality of life compared to non-smoking cancer patients or to those who have quit. Yet about 60% of patients continue to smoke after being diagnosed and find it difficult to quit.

Fluorescence-guided precision cancer surgery may improve survival and minimize patient morbidity. Efficient development of promising interventions is however hindered by a lack of common methodology. This methodology review aimed to synthesize descriptions of technique, governance processes, surgical learning and outcome reporting in studies of fluorescence-guided cancer surgery to provide guidance for the harmonized design of future studies.

Developing countries have a significantly higher incidence of breast cancer in patients younger than 40 years as compared to developed countries. This study aimed to examine if young age at diagnosis is an independent prognostic factor for worse survival outcomes in breast cancer as well as the effect of age on Disease-free survival (DFS) and local recurrence free survival (LRFS) after adjusting for various tumor characteristics, local and systemic treatments.

Supraclavicular nodal (SCL) irradiation is commonly used for patients with high-risk breast cancer after breast surgery. The Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG) and European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO) breast contouring atlases delineate the medial part of the SCL region, while excluding the posterolateral part.

While understanding molecular heterogeneity across patients underpins precision oncology, there is increasing appreciation for taking intra-tumor heterogeneity into account. Based on large-scale analysis of cancer omics datasets, we highlight the importance of intra-tumor transcriptomic heterogeneity (ITTH) for predicting clinical outcomes.

Children with relapsed central nervous system (CNS tumors), neuroblastoma, sarcomas, and other rare solid tumors face poor outcomes. This prospective clinical trial examined the feasibility of combining genomic and transcriptomic profiling of tumor samples with a molecular tumor board (MTB) approach to make real‑time treatment decisions for children with relapsed/refractory solid tumors.

The long-term oncologic outcomes after laparoscopic and open procedures for patients with intermediate- and high-risk endometrial cancer (EC) remain unclear. Accordingly, laparoscopy cannot still be recommended as the standard choice for intermediate- and high-risk EC.

This study aims to investigate whether short-course radiotherapy (SCRT) followed by intensive chemotherapy improves oncologic outcomes compared with traditional preoperative long-course chemoradiotherapy (CRT).

Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most common primary malignant brain tumor in adults, with overall survival remaining poor despite ongoing efforts to explore new treatment paradigms. Given these outcomes, efforts have been made to shorten treatment time.

Shared decision-making has become of increased importance in choosing the most suitable treatment strategy for early rectal cancer, however, clinical decision-making is still primarily based on physicians’ perspectives. Balancing quality of life and oncological outcomes is difficult, and guidance on patients’ involvement in this subject in early rectal cancer is limited.

There is limited real-world evidence that describes patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (NDMM) treated with the bortezomib, lenalidomide, and dexamethasone (VRd) triplet regimen. We evaluated patient characteristics and treatment outcomes among nontransplanted NDMM patients who received VRd as their first line of therapy (LOT) in US oncology practice settings.

Alveolar soft part sarcoma (ASPS) is a rare histological subtype of soft-tissue sarcoma, which remains refractory to conventional cytotoxic chemotherapy. We aimed to characterize ASPS and investigate whether the oncological outcome has improved over the past decade.

The modulation of perioperative inflammation seems crucial to improve postoperative morbidity and cancer-related outcomes in patients undergoing oncological surgery. Data from the literature suggest that perioperative corticosteroids decrease inflammatory markers and might be associated with fewer complications in esophageal, liver, pancreatic and colorectal surgery.

Gastric cancer (GC), gastroesophageal junction cancer (GEJC), and esophageal adenocarcinoma (EAC), together, are leading causes of cancer deaths worldwide. Patient health-related quality of life (HRQoL) and well-being has become increasingly important alongside traditional oncologic outcomes for both patients and clinicians and may aid treatment decisions.

The initial management of patients with sarcoma is a critical issue. We used the nationwide French National Cancer Institute-funded prospective sarcoma database NETSARC to report the management and oncologic outcomes in adolescents and young adults (AYAs) patients with sarcoma at the national level.

Both Red Blood Cell (RBC) transfusion and anemia are thought to negatively impact cancer survival. These effects have been reported with mixed findings in cancer of the esophagus. The potential impact of the application of restrictive transfusion strategies on this patient population has not been defined.
