Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) are common in genes and can lead to dysregulation of gene expression in tissues, which can affect carcinogenesis. Many studies reporting the association between xeroderma pigmentosum group D (XPD) polymorphisms of rs13181 and rs1799793 with oral cancer risk, but with conflicting and inconclusive results.

Nutritional support, including nutritional counseling and oral nutritional supplements (ONS), has been recommended as a first-line strategy in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Evidence on the efficacy of immunonutrition during immunotherapy in these patients is positive, but still limited some secondary endpoints, such as treatment toxicity and tolerance.

Metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) remains a therapeutic challenge and evidence for late-line treatments in real-life is limited. The present study investigates the efficacy and safety of an oral metronomic chemo-hormonal regimen including cyclophosphamide, etoposide, estramustine, ketoconazole and prednisolone (KEES) administered in a consecutive biweekly schedule.

Large-scale population-based studies regarding the role of education in periodontitis are lacking. Thus, the aim of the current study was to analyze the potential association between education and periodontitis with state of the art measured clinical phenotypes within a large population-based sample from northern Germany.

Latest evidence suggests that periodontitis is prevalent among patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), while recent studies have also reported a potential beneft of periodontal treatment on several COPD outcomes. This systematic review aims to determine the impact of periodontal treatment on exacerbation rate, lung function and quality of life of COPD patients.

Knee osteoarthritis (OA) is known to be a progressive degenerative disorder; however, recent evidence suggests that inflammatory mediators contribute to cartilage degradation. Studies have reported that Nacetylcysteine (NAC) had a promising effect on the reduction of the synthesis of proinflammatory and structural mediators by synovial cells.

Sorafenib is an orally available kinase inhibitor with activity at Raf, PDGFβ and VEGF receptors that is licensed for the treatment of advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC) and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Current evidence-based post-nephrectomy management of individuals with localized RCC consists of surveillance-based follow up.

Despite its relatively low effectiveness, withdrawal is a common contraceptive practice. In Vietnam, health concerns about hormonal contraception are strong and account for substantial method discontinuation. Given the paucity of evidence on withdrawal, our objective was to identify correlates of using withdrawal among women not desiring pregnancy.

Prognosis is poor for patients with malignant progression such as distant metastasis of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). Evidence indicates that miR-448 promotes the proliferation and inhibits apoptosis of OSCC cells. Therefore, we aimed to investigate the function of miR-448 to predict tumor progression and prognosis of OSCC.

Immunologic factors can promote the progression of oral squamous cell carcinomas (oscc). The phylogenetic highly conserved protein Galectin 3 (Gal3) contributes to cell differentiation and immune homeostasis. There is evidence that Gal3 is involved in the progression of oscc and influences the regulation of macrophage polarization.

(BQ) As dental professionals, our duty is to find ways to provide necessary dental care as safely as possible. Our ideal role is to work with a woman to help her get to a state of ideal oral health before she becomes pregnant. This way, the need for invasive treatments during pregnancy is minimized or prevented altogether. Researchers keep uncovering evidence that untreated oral disease has the potential to be detrimental to both the expectant mother and the baby.

Fomesafen is widely used as herbicide for weed control. Fomesafen have both foliar and soil activity. It mostly control broadleaves. Fomesafen is labeled for postemergence applications to soybeans, peanuts, and rice. Although bronzing or burning of soybean leaf tissue is evident after application, yield is rarely affected. The present study was designed to evaluate the effect of repeated exposure of Fomesafen (Herbicide) by oral gavage method on the blood biochemistry of female wistar rats.

Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is an oral and maxillofacial malignancy with a high incidence worldwide. Accumulating evidence indicates that circular RNAs (circRNAs) play a vital role in modulating tumor development. However, the mechanism of circRNA action in human OSCC remains largely unknown.
