This thesis examines the elements of career growth that influence and shape organisational commitment and job satisfaction in the context of a ‘closed’ government agency in Malaysia. While a number of studies report empirical research in the private sector, as yet there has been little research published on this in the public sector. To address this research deficiency, a mixed methods approach was employed in this study.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the direct and indirect effects of leadership behaviours on organisational outcomes within the context of organisations from the private industry sector in Australia. Specifically, this study was interested in examining the influence of authentic leadership and ethical leadership on perceived ethical climate, subordinates’ organisational citizenship behaviours, affective organisational commitment, and in-role performance.

The primary aim of this study is to determine the extent to which external auditors, in exercising their responsibilities under the Australian Auditing Standards, conduct additional audit work (proxied by audit fees) when audit clients have experienced known misappropriation of assets (MOA) fraud. The research is motivated by three key factors. The first being the mounting concerns by the Australian government and others in relation to audit quality.
