Occurrence of haemonchosis and sudden death among goats were observed in Livestock Farm Complex (Goat Farm Unit), Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science that comprises a flock of 33 animals (22 numbers of Beetal crossbred and 11 numbers of Assam Hill Goat). The incidences were recorded during August-September, 2020. The morbidity rate of haemonchosis in the present study was recorded 66.67 % (22 nos.) and mortality rate was 27.28% (9 nos.).

The present study was planned to know the status of anthelmintic resistance in gastrointestinal (GI) nematodes of two organized sheep and one goat farms of subHimalayan region of northern India using faecal egg count reduction test (FECRT). Three anthelmintics, fenbendazole (FBZ), tetramisole HCl (TMS) and ivermectin (IVM) of benzimidazole, imidazothiazole and macrocyclic lactone groups, respectively were tested at each farm.

A field investigation was made in an organized goat farm near thanjavur city with the history of sudden mortality due to respiratory distress. About 300 tellicherry adult goats are maintained in that farm. Bilateral serous to mucopurulent nasal discharge, lymphadenopathy and respiratory stridor were observed in few animals. Samples such as nasal swab, trans tracheal lavage, blood samples, fecal samples and lymph node aspiration smear were collected from affected animals aseptically for microbiological and parasitiological examination.

The present study was undertaken to assess the seasonal influence on the occurrence of gastrointestinal nematode diseases in an organized farm of Wayanad district of Kerala. Strongylosis was the most predominant gastrointestinal nematode followed by trichurosis and amphistomosis. Haemonchosis was the predominant strongyle infection in the farm. The first peak of eggs (strongyle) per gram of faeces (EPG) in adult goats was observed during the month of April. In kids, the first peak of EPG was observed during the period January- February.

A three month old Sirohi breed of kid was presented with history of gradual off feed maintained in an organized farm. On clinical examination of kid revealed dehydration, dullness, anemic and the condition is deteriorated and suffering with respiratory distress leading to death of kid. On postmortem examination of kid reveled that, there was one hard ball, in the rumen. The hairballs occupied most of the rumen leaving little space for food and therefore, it was considered to be the cause of the in-appetence.

The present study was conducted with the aim to record seroprevalence and microbiological studies in serum and milk samples and vaginal swabs respectively, of brucellosis in goats. The present study was conducted in all the six different agro-climatic zones of Punjab state to know about demographic profile parameters (age, sex, education, main occupation, family size, family type, land holdings and category) of farmers engaged in goat farming. Data on birth weight pertaining to 373 Mehsana kids for a period spread over 7 year (from 2011 to 2017) maintained at organised farm were utilized to study the various factors affecting it. On the basis of date of birth of kids, data were divided in to 3 different seasons and 7 periods (year).
