Ebook "Jellyfish blooms: New problems and solutions" is the third volume in this series. Syntheses and original research articles provide an identification key for the ephyrae of 18 common scyphozoan species, document the Mediterranean-wide bloom of the invasive ctenophore Mnemiopsis leidyi, and address the direct effects of ocean acidification on jellyfish for the first time. The influence of climate change on jellyfish blooms is covered in several papers.

The research team applies the methodology of analysing VNPAY’s sources of competitive advantage. This paper observes the existence of 0 digits that is used in Nusantara, in specific, by gaining some sources in the inscriptions, temples, gravestones, and coins shapes. This article is written as the result of an observation by using literary observation method; in the inscription shape whose aim research to give the evidence that the number 0 has been used in Nusantara. As a result, the 0 digits have been first discovered in Sumatera; it was on Kedukan Bukit inscription numbered 604 Saka (682 C.E.) The existence of the zero number has also been discovered in the original Nusantara numbers.

Reversible data hiding based on the preservation of sorted pixel value ordering (PVO) technique has been researched and expanded recently due to its high embedding capacity and good image quality. In this paper, to have more sub-blocks, the paper divides the image into sub-blocks with 3 pixels and embeds 2 bits in the maximum value and 1 bit in the minimum value.

In this paper we present the development of a new direction in so-called optofluidics, namely the research of photonic crystal fibers (PCF) infiltrated with liquids. In particular we concentrate on the flagship application of PCF, the process of Supercontinuum Generation (SG), in which injected monochromatic pulse may be dramatically broadened (spectrally), which creates a coherent beam generation of high brightness comparable to that of monochromatic lasers.

This paper presents an analytical review of the publications in order to assess the attention and awareness focused on the Paris Agreement and, specifically, the electricity sector. For this purpose, our study uses a bibliometric analysis considering authors, the types of documents, the title of the sources, the year of publication, the institutions, the languages, the countries of origin, and related concepts. In conclusion, the study’s most frequent terms are “Paris Agreement”, “carbon”, “climate change” and “renewable energy”.

Spatio-temporal data serves as a foundation for most location-based applications nowadays. To handle spatio-temporal data, an appropriate methodology needs to be properly followed, in which space and time dimensions of data must be taken into account ‘altogether’ – unlike spatial (or temporal) data management tools which consider space (or time) separately and assumes no dependency on one another. In the last decades, several papers have shown that quantum techniques can be successful in describing not only events in the micro-scale physical world – for which they were originally invented – but also in describing social phenomena, e.g., different economic processes. In our previous paper, we provide an explanation for this somewhat surprising successes. In this paper, we extend this explanation and show that quantum (and more general) techniques can also be used to model research collaboration.

In this paper, an improved version of Differential Evolution algorithm, called iDE, is introduced to solve design optimization problems of composite laminated beams. The beams used in this research are Timoshenko beam models computed based on analytical formula. The iDE is formed by modifying the mutation and the selection step of the original algorithm. Particularly, individuals involved in mutation were chosen by Roulette wheel selection via acceptant stochastic instead of the random selection.
