  • The aim of this study is to investigate if Ichimoku Cloud can serve as a technical analysis indicator to improve stock price prediction for leading US energy companies. The methodology centers on the application of the Ichimoku Cloud as a trading system. The daily stock prices of the top ten constituents of the S&P Composite 1500 Energy Index - spanning the period from 12th April, 2012 to 31st July, 2019 - were sourced for experimentation. The performance of the Ichimoku Cloud is measured using both the Sharpe and Sortino ratios to adjust for total and downside risks.

  • Field studies were conducted on application of zinc and boron to summer rice crop on Alfisols at Naganahalli village, Mysore district, Karnataka. The results showed that external application of zinc as ZnSO4 @ 20 kg ha-1 and boron as borax @ 4 kg ha-1 significantly enhanced the plant height number of tillers hill-1 , grains per panicle, thousand grain weight, grain yield and straw yield of paddy. Further there was significant increase in major (N, P and K), secondary (S, Ca and Mg) and micronutrient (Zn, Cu, Fe, Mn and B) status of soils.

  • Present study was undertaken to evolve an efficient and reliable measure for management of sheath blight of rice through application of judicious doses of plant nutrients. In this investigation, the effect of different doses i.e. control dose (naturally available in soil), deficient dose, recommended dose and excess dose of macronutrients (N, P &K) & micronutrients (S, Zn & Fe) were assessed on incubation period for first appearance of sheath blight, disease severity and on phenolic contents in inoculated rice plants.

  • Phosphorous is one of the most abundant metallic element found in the earth’s crust and present in soils in both organic and inorganic forms. Though it is present in high concentration, only 0.1% of the total P is available to plant because of poor solubility and its fixation in soil with other metallic elements in the soil such as Ca, Al, Fe to form calcium phosphate, aluminum phosphate and ferrous phosphate and thus becomes unavailable to plants.

  • Phosphorus is perhaps, amongst all the plant nutrients, the one with the most limited bioavailability in soils (approximately 6% of total soil P is readily available (Bray’s & Olsen’s P). 80 % of phosphorus is fixed by primary minerals, precipitate, adsorbed or organically complex form. Phosphorus fertilizer is usually applied in excess of plant requirement and accumulates in soils. As soils are complex and diverse chemical, biochemical and biological systems, strategies to access recalcitrant soil P are often inefficient, case specific and inconsistently applicable in different soils.
