The main PGP-properties, namely the ability to solubilize-P and production of IAA, as well as production of siderophores and HCN were examined. Additionally, field trials were conducted on sandy loam soil at El-Tahrir Province during two successive summer seasons to study the effect of co-inoculation with Bradyrhizobium either individually or together with S. marcescens and/or T. harzianum on nodulation

Phosphorus (P) is one of the major essential macronutrients for biological growth and metabolism of plants. Tea (Camellia sinensis L) plantation requires adequate amount of P for the proper yield of tea leaves. However, due to acidic nature of tea growing soils, phosphorus fixation is a common phenomenon. A close look at the different pools of soil P reveals, major portion of soil P is present in the form of organic P.

The objective of the study was to know the effect of P-solubilizer (Bacillus megaterium) and P mobilizer (Glomus mossae) and their combination with 100 and 75 per cent recommended dose of P on the yield and economics of FCV tobacco. Results showed that application of 100 per cent RDF with P solubilizer and P mobilizer each @ 6.25 ka ha-1 recorded significantly higher green leaf yield (10795 kg ha-1 ) and cured leaf yield (1060 kg ha-1 ).

Beneficial biofilms developed by nitrogen fixing bacteria and P - solubilising fungi in vitro conditions and also used as biofertilizers in non - leguminous crops and also observed that the bacteria colonized fungal mycelia to form biofilms. The biofilms showed high rates of biological nitrogen fixation and organic acid production which directly influences the synthesis of indole acetic acid like substances than microbes when used as monocultures. (Seneiviratne et al., 2003).

In this present study, different Rhizobial and Pseudomonas strains from different locations were collected and evaluated for their potential PGP activity. Among ten Rhizobial cultures GNR1 recorded the highest P solubilization zone (24.3 mm) conversely, P solubilization is highest in Pseudomonas isolates. Five cultures of Rhizobia and six cultures of Pseudomonas were able to solubilize potassium. The solubilisation zone is ranging from a maximum of 11.6 to a minimum of 8.3 mm.

Soil microorganisms are supportive in the transformation of soil phosphorus (P) and are thus an important component of the soil P cycle. These are effective in releasing P both from inorganic and organic pools of total soil P through their respective solubilizing and also enhance the soil microbial and enzymatic activities.

Phosphorus is the most important nutrient element for growth and development of wheat. In this field experiment, the effects of Solubilization of rock phosphate by spent wash onprotein, total sugar and total starch content in grain and straw was studied. application of 100% N&K + 75% P through SSP recorded significantly highest protein content in grain and straw found significantly superior to their lower levels.

These symbiotic microorganisms have extensive mycelial network and can increase the transport of other mineral elements such as zinc and copper. VAM fungi can play an important role in enhancing P availability to plants in deficient soils and can save P-fertilizer by 25-30% (Somani et al., 1990).

Study was conducted to isolate and characterize Rhizobia from root nodules of pigeon pea from Vijayapur, Kalaburgi and Bagalkot districts of northern regions of Karnataka. Ten Rhizobial isolates and reference strain PPM35B were subjected for nodulation test. All the isolates showed positive result for nodulation. The number of nodules was ranging from 12 to 14.5 per plant.

Phosphorous (P), an essential nutrient element is the second most important element after nitrogen. It is unavailable to plants because in the soil it is mostly present in the fixed form. Soil bacteria having the phosphate solubilizing capacity are called as Phosphate Solubilising Bacteria (PSB). They convert the insoluble phosphate into soluble form through the production of organic acids and make it available for plant uptake and nutrition. They are also useful as biofertilizers as they belong to the plant growth promoting Rhizobacteria.

Phosphorus plays a major role in growth and development of crops and is often found limiting in almost all types of soils. Phosphorus (P) solubilizing bacteria do the vital processes of mobilization of P from its poorly available sources. In this study, the potency of five bacterial strains (2 strains of Bacillus and 3 strains of Burkholderia) have been evaluated to solubilize P from complexes of Ca-P, Al-P, Fe(II)-P and Fe(III)-P.

Phosphorous is one of the most abundant metallic element found in the earth’s crust and present in soils in both organic and inorganic forms. Though it is present in high concentration, only 0.1% of the total P is available to plant because of poor solubility and its fixation in soil with other metallic elements in the soil such as Ca, Al, Fe to form calcium phosphate, aluminum phosphate and ferrous phosphate and thus becomes unavailable to plants.

This competition is greatly intensifies in the root zone of plants, the rhizosphere, owing to the greater density of its micro population. The Experiment was carried out in the in laboratory of Department of Environmental Science, SHUATS, Allahabad to study the effect of Modern agricultural practices on soil microbial properties of Chaka block of Allahabad district” U.P., INDIA in 2016.

High-grade rock phosphate (P2O5>30%) is essential for manufacturing P fertilizers. only 39% is of high grade which could meet hardly 35-40% of the demand of P fertilizers (Indian Bureau of Mines 2014). In India, there is a predominance of low grade rock phosphate reserves and out of 260 million ton only 15.3 million ton is of high grade quality. The consumption of apatite and rock phosphate in 2011-12 was about 3.96 million tonne. Rock phosphate is usually inert in alkaline and calcareous soils.
