  • In the present study collected twenty (20) direct sown paddy rhizosphere soil samples from four districts of Andhra Pradesh and recorded their geographical position of collected soil samples. From that thirty two (32) Zinc Solubilizing Bacteria (ZnSB) isolated by using zinc phosphate [Zn3(PO4)2] as a insoluble source of zinc in the trismineral salts media. Zinc solubilizing isolates coded based on their soil sample collected geographical position, recorded the morphological, cultural characteristics of ZnSB.

  • Methylobacterium spp. are a group of bacteria known as pink-pigmented facultative methylotrophs (PPFMs) capable of growing on single carbon compounds such as formate, formaldehyde, and methanol as well as on a variety of multicarbon compounds having no carbon-carbon bonds. They are distributed ubiquitously in the plant phyllosphere and rhizosphere and have been isolated from many species of plants. Methylotrophs are known to play an important role in increasing crop yield and soil fertility.

  • In our present study, we have isolated zinc solubilizing bacteria from rhizospheric soils of rice growing area surrounding Raichur and Koppal districts of Karnataka, India. Around 40 zinc solubilizing bacteria were isolated using TRIS-minimal agar medium (TMA) supplemented with 0.1 % ZnO. All the isolates were named after zinc solubilization such as MZSB-1 to MZSB-40 respectively.

  • Trichoderma is one of the common fungal biocontrol agents being used worldwide for efficient management of various foliar and soil borne plant pathogens. Unlike chemicals, the establishment of these biocontrol agents in the targeted niche requires support even after their application. Two Trichoderma species (Isolate 2 and Isolate 5) were isolated from paddy and groundnut rhizospheres respectively.

  • Use of biocontrol agents against soil borne pathogen is gaining importance in the present situation for eco-friendly management of soil borne diseases. Bioefficacy of indigenous Trichoderma spp has greater efficacy against soil borne pathogens of pulses. Native Trichoderma isolates were collected from soil rhizospheres of paddy, groundnut, brinjal and tomato grown in the Agronomy field and Central farm of Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology, Bhubaneswar and named as Isolate 1, Isolate 2, Isolate 3, Isolate 4, Isolate 5 respectively.
